I think this Alabama teams has been on an emotional rollercoaster. Right now, they are on a high point. Good. I still remember the Vandy and Tennessee levels of performance, so it will take a fewer more games at the LSU-level of performance before I can declare this team world-beaters.
LSU has a below average run defense, but if Bama continues a similar level of performance, Bama will be favored in every game the rest of the season and well into the playoffs maybe throughout.

As fun as the LSU win was, I don’t think we should read too much into it. LSU has a bad rushing defense, specifically against running QBs, and we were able to expose that. Same as last year. The remainder of our regular season schedule won’t tell us much more about the team. I am cautiously optimistic, but people seem to swing wildly between “we will be hard pressed to win another game” and “this team is unstoppable and the QB should win the Heisman.”
If our coaching staff remains aggressive, with play calling on both sides of the ball, there's not a team in the country that can hang with this team..

I'm especially proud of how aggressive we ran the ball against The Swamp Kittens & how this coaching is not afraid too let Jalen simply run the ball, you can see how aggressive, our "Swarm Defense" has been once our players understood the concept of the defense & are comfortable running it knowing how too run it..

The key is staying aggressive with play calling on both sides of the ball..

In all seriousness, Heupel is a much better coach than Kelly. I have had an opportunity to throw a few back with him once and I can also say he is a much better person as well. Kelly was once an innovator and on the cutting edge, but now he is a shriveled up angry red tyrant. Heupel can call some dang good ball on the offensive side and he obviously knows how to get his guys to play there butt off for him. I may hate the school but that doesn't mean I have to hate the coach.
Kelly really painted himself into a corner when he said "Judge me on my third year." I'll bet he wishes he could take that back...

How many of the 9 teams ranked ahead of Bama would be favored against Bama on a neutral field right now? I say only the top 3?
According to ESPN FPI, we'd be favored over all of them.

I just felt the vibe you was giving off from the few posts is that he sucked. I stand corrected if that is not what you were inferring.

"He has gotten UT back to where they should be."

I don't feel like UT is a perennial top 5-10 school personally when factoring in resources, location, etc.

Lets just look at the SEC currently. It could easily be argued that UT isn't a top 5 school in the conference. Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Auburn, Texas A&M, Florida, and LSU could all argue they are better jobs.

What Heupel took over was similar to what Florida will be whenever they decide to move on from Napier. If within a few years someone comes there and has them competing at a high level, in the mix for a NC, and beating Alabama every other year, I'd say they are a damn good coach.

As far as BK, his resume stacks up with almost anyone. Multiple NC's at GVSU back in the day. Has won everywhere he has been. But at what cost? I can't name a single human who will vouch for BK. Regardless, even with all the resume, I think what CJH has done in his limited time at UT is more impressive than what CBK has done with LSU. Look no further than this year's game!
I'd reinforce what you're saying. They are demographically challenged when it comes to talent. I've been watching them for decades, since I started at Bama in the mid-'50s. They've prospered only when schools in the surrounding states were doing poorly, allowing them to recruit effectively. They used to brag about flying over kids other SEC schools were recruiting to get better recruits...

Leadership has made all the difference at Alabama, from booster and legacy Paul Bryant, Jr to Mal Moore to President Witt. Florida, Georgia and Louisiana (not to mention TX and aTm) are all better schools on paper. We've been lucky but we've also made our own luck. I still think when Saban won his first NC at LSU their boosters got too big for their britches and the AD scampered off to the NCAA and Saban decided to head to Miami. They thought Saban wasn't needed anymore. They were right, for a while.
