So the police follow up by putting out a statement full of lies that flips what happened on it's head. And all the "good cops" we hear so much about remained silent. It took a neighbor's cell phone video to make them fess up.

I don't think these high dollar lawsuits against the cities that keep hiring these type cops is an adequate deterrent. they don't seem to change any behavior.

This happening so close to the election, in Pennsylvania is especially concerning.

Across the country, many states have a hard municipal cap on liability. Alabama's is $150K. The cities generally self-insure up to that cap. You can always sue the LEO also, but those guys don't have deep pockets. And they bankrupt out of judgments...

Not sure why the people being abused’ taxes paying off the abuses through lawsuits would ever be a deterrent. If the police themselves were liable it might make a difference.
