Btw - here's an update from work.

We are still wearing masks (required).

They ceased taking the temperature of employees when we walked into the door.
I curiously went to a couple of restaurants - despite the fact we're supposedly "further along," they are still mostly empty.

Now whether that's because we have so many unemployed that they can't afford a restaurant meal or fear of Covid - or perhaps both - well, I don't know.

But the ultimate arbiter of when folks really go back out into the world is going to be the people themselves.

just speaking for us, we have no intention of dining in a restaurant in the foreseeable future. we have done takeout a few times, but not regularly.

It's always been about the people, not the politicians. People will do what they feel comfortable with and what they feel is appropriate given their risk characteristics or of the people they live with/care about. That's why you see so many young people out and about as if nothing has happened and older people being, for the most part, careful. I don't pay much attention to the footage I see on TV. I can see it for myself.

laissez faire is not a good approach to dealing with widespread public health issues.

right now, a ton of people are doing stuff they feel "comfortable" with, but their actions are quite dangerous and risky for other people.

that's one of the many reasons we have over 100k americans dead in the past three months; and that number continues to grow.

True. And that's the reason that this recession will not be "V-shaped," unless the right leg of that "V" is sprung way out to the right...

Is Georgia doing as bad at it as Florida. Because all Ive been hearing is how great both states have been doing with their patriotic reopen.
