Question: Good restaurant in atl??

Highly, highly recommend Stoney River. Nice atmosphere, gooooood meat.

Also, if you're staying in the Smyrna area, there are some good spots for a follow-up meal later in the weekend. My wife and I will occasionally drive over from Bham so she can shop and I can relax. We stay in Smyrna and there's this casual Italian place called Scalini's that is slap-your-mama good. Everything on the menu is just excellent. It's just down the road from Stoney River's Cumberland Mall location.

Also, for a quick lunch there's a buffet called Jade Palace that still has Mongolian BBQ, which is delicious.

The Sheraton there at Cumberland is a decent mid-priced hotel but there's a W Hotel just a little further around 285 to the north if you want to make it special.

Congrats and Roll Tide!

Has anyone mentioned New York Prime in Buckhead? It's pricey, but I think it's actually better than Bones.
Yes, Canoe is good too. It's got an awesome view of the river (I actually did propose to my wife after going there a few years ago).
Also, the Vortex on Peachtree is good place for burgers. Just don't bring your kids, because I believe it's 21 and up.
If anyone is interested in BBQ, The Swallow at the Hollow in Roswell is awesome. I think it's my favorite BBQ place.

It's dated, and kitschy (?sp.?), but Dante's in Buckhead has some great Jazz. Been around for a LONG time, and, hey, fondue's been out for what, 30 years? But, we still enjoy the place and find the aura too much to resist when we go to the Lenox area...

Heck, if we are going to throw in the hamburger and hot dog restaurants then please come to my restaurant. I will guarantee you that you will enjoy it more than the Varsity and I will even comp your meal.

I first discovered the Pleasant Peasant, on Peachtree NE, by accident in the mid 70's and thought it was one of the best cuisine and romantic hole-in-the-wall restaurants I'd ever experienced. I'd eat there every time I visited ATL, but after a few years it closed.

Several years ago I discovered that it had re-opened under the original ownership. Still the same great food and atmosphere. The website states that it's currently closed for renovations, so that's my recommendation for you and the (hopefully) wife in future visits.

Will you comp the beer?

The Peasant is more than just renovating - they had some roof damage and are having to rebuild the entire place. If you loved the place though, they opened a new place over on Centennial Olympic Park called Peasant Bistro that's a bit fru-fru for me but is generally a good restaurant. Don't go after it rains though - there is a gnat issue in the park and the place fills with them.

I LOVED the escargot at the Peasant. Can't wait for it to re-open....
