I have felt Sims could be our best option at qb if AJ went down. I don't know if he is considered our 2nd string QB but he clearly has a package he can run for change of pace or if we need him.
He has a better arm than many wildcat QB's and does well on the option read. He took us in for a score Saturday. I hope he gets to run that offense more often. I like the looks of it.

Looks like i misspelled the title.

I think he is the number 2.

He has the tools to be a great QB. Wish we wouldn't have slept walked through the WKU game, so he could get a lot of reps throwing the ball.

This is what happens when coaches have the ability to adapt to the strengths of the players that are on the field...this is what makes us great. :PDT_001:

I know this is about Sims .. but how about that Drake run .. how fast is this guy! and yes agreed hope to see great things from him and more of him this season.

I'm glad he got to play. We may need this kid in the future. Not just if AJ gets hurt but to compete for the starting spot in a year or two.

He's the perfect backup to AJ. Not going to start a big controversy over who should start, but looks like he could take over in a pinch. I hope he gets more playing time.

That read option could give teams a little more to prepare for too. Saban may not have completely thrown out the wildcat.

Our 2nd team 0(with a tf rb )vs their 1st team D on that last TD. I know it was in the last min. but it still was a surprise hearing it on the radio. And looked even better when I watched the game later that evening on the dvr. CNS does always seem to hold his cards close to his vest and keep an ace up his sleeve. So you never know what we might see on Sat. and for the rest of the season. GO BAMA and RTR.

I think it really takes a special guy just to make the team with the expectations at Alabama. I have wanted to see more of Blake last tear but, hey Coach seems to know how to bring in the Crystal.

Just please don't sell Ely short, the kid is a gamer & very, very smart.

AJ is the man & let's hope he can stay strong all year long. What happened to Jalston was terrible but players get hurt in practice, it's a tough game.

I really don't see a glaring weak link, the OLine will be much better Saturday.

Going to be a Great Year! RTR!

I agree. Hate what happened to Fowler, no doubt. But I hope our opponents are fooled into believing that Bama has no other weapons. I think we start seeing some more slice and dice and slash and dash with guys like Sims, Dee Hart, Drake, TJ, and more....I think this offense as it develops is going to be FUN!
