What do you think this guy is going to do in the future? I know i'm thinking waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy to far ahead but i've had a feeling about this guy since he commited. Do you think he'll be second string next year? Is he the heir apparent to John Parker Wilson?

I was actually recently thinking about Robert Marve. After JPW and McElroy are gone, this kid is only gonna have one year at the reigns with Bama's offense.

Mavre and/or McElroy will be next in line for the Bama Nation's fascination with the 2nd string QB. I hope that McElroy gets lots of playing time next year after the first string hangs 50 on our opponents during the first half!

that really sucks that marve may only have 1 year starting.. but who knows wut could happen... it will only help improve an already talented position on the roster...

btw did anyone see wut marve did in the FIRST QUARTER over on the recruiting board?...

Greg McElroy = the real deal. He is from a school like Hoover here in texas, he was the player of the year in the biggest classification here and won a state championship. He was also the player of the game I believe. He has it all, pocket presence, can run and has all of the throws. Can see the field. Now I know that was in college but JPW looks to be a winner from a similar background. I watched him as a senior. He was impressive to me FWIIW

Saw some interesting school classifications the other day, for those that believe they can derive anything from school division populations, ergo levels of competition.

Texas 5A 2,000 to >5,000 245 Schools
Florida 4A 1,708 - 2,054 81 Schools
Alabama 6A 700 - 1,751 64 Schools

McElroy had to wait his turn in HS and only played his senior year. The guy in front of him is now the starting QB at Missouri. Chase Daniel is his name I believe. McElroy could get the reins for two years unless Marve beats him out. I don't believe anyone is gonna take the job from JP.:)

Correct. Daniel is MO QB and currently lighting it up from spread/shotgun in B12 North. This sub-6'er was TX5A POY, Parade All American, Elite 11, etc., and tough as nails...but lightly recruited. Mac had to sit behind him for two seasons...then eclipsed Southlake Carroll Dragon and state QB records set by Daniel and his POY predecessor in his single season as starter. Our stats indicate McElroy stood on the sideline for time totaling almost four games of his season because of what I've seen described as a goofy QB carousel and blowouts. Incredible considering his success/numbers.

I'm not sure where you derived your Alabama HS classification numbers but the 700+ for 6A seems a little low. I'm sure you're probably right as I'm too lazy to look it up myself!:)

Anyway Hoover is obviously a 6A school (AL) with an enrollment of 2,400. Spain Park HS (home of future aub QB Neil Caudle) is also a Hoover high school and has an enrollment of approx 1,400 or so. If this was one school instead of two, well, you get the picture. :)

Hartselle has an enrollment of nearly 900 (885) and is 5A...
That's what I was thinking. I know my old HS has well over 700 students and is 5A. Fairfield Tigers!! Growl Tigers, Growl!

The first HS game I ever saw was in 1970 when Jimmy Fuller was the coach at Fairfield. James Owens was our star RB who later had a great career at au.
