Grits are basically as versatile as rice. I love making cheese grits with crumbled bacon, parsley, garlic, fried onions if they're handy, and a big topping of parmesan cheese. Never done it but they can make a great desert by making them sweet and adding fruit... very versitle takes on any kind of flavoring southwestern, asian, etc
