Grumpy Old Men

Didn't see it. Can you explain please.

It was loose and basically Ty said “yall fueled our performance” basically alluding to the media writing them off.

But as @selmaborntidefan said in another thread. Bama fans crucified Ray Perkins for things that happened the same exact way in the final years of the Bryant era. Anyone criticizing DeBoer for allowing his team from sticking their chest out during an interview really needs to hammer Nick Saban for allowing Jalen Milroe saying everything under the sun in 23. Because it was 100X worse in 23. Even Kirby Smart struggles in containing players from talking and doing antics in this NIL era

I miss the days when players handed the ball to the ref after a play and just went about their business.

I heard his comments and saw the social media stuff but I don't have any issue with it whatsoever. They can spend the 24 hours however they want as long as they don't go disrespecting our next opponent. Just don't poke any bears is all I ask.

it wasnt what he said but the tone of it felt like a jerk. All our previous QB used to say we have things to improve on. Never has Ty said we need to work on will look at film and get to work

Whatever, call me grumpy. I’m not sold on this staff.

This team look woefully unprepared for a quarter and a half last night. There is no excuse for looking that crappy. Why does Wommack have to feel things out for an entire quarter before he finds “the plan” that works? I mean after a couple QB runs we all knew what we needed to stop but it took him another quarter to adjust. Don’t get me started on Grubb’s horrifically uninspired play calling. The media claims he is a play calling genius but I see no evidence of that at all.

I am extremely excited and thrilled that the team came back and won. But that doesn’t erase what we saw in the first 45 minutes. It’s not the first time the team has looked like this, it keeps happening both this season and last. That worries me. I don’t think DeBoer has what it takes to compete long term in the SEC. An incredible comeback win does not change my mind.
There’s a happy take after a program defining win…there’s a puppy outside you can kick…

I don't understand why people complain when players or coaches say what's on their mind and then complain about "Coach speak" or "Player Speak". It's the same thing as "Rat Poison" and he said nothing wrong. I think "older people" just can't handle "younger people" being straight forward. It's like they are supposed to visible, but not heard.

It’s for sure no different or worse than some of CNS’s postgame rants like ‘Dead and Buried’ for example after the 2014 or 2015 Ole Miss deal I believe it was.

I’d rather them blow off steam after a win than give an opponent a sound byte before anyway.

Plus if being ‘disrespected’ externally motivates them to play like those final 3 quarters vs OU I hope they continue to feel that way the rest of the CFBP.

Yeah. I like when CKD told McAfee he was going to post pictures of the ESPN hosts doubting Alabama in the Locker room. Pat of course thought that was hilarious.

People are actually upset that Ty got snippy with the press?

I wonder how mortified they’d be if they saw the clip after the Iron Bowl where he used the “F” word coming off the field.

View attachment 54838

Yet Milroe said “give me the heisman” (paraphrasing Because of rules) after the iron bowl, threw his former OC under the bus during a press conference, and at that same press conference accused his opponent in the next few days of cheating….. who was the coach of that team

my point is that by comparison Ty’s statements are far less of an issue or a sign of arrogance than what we have previously seen. And this is more of a “DeBoer is too loose on control” attempt. But when you bring up the circus that CNS either allowed or couldn’t control in his last year with players saying and doing whatever they wanted there are crickets.

This is a reach lol. Didn't Saban say something about the press having us dead and buried at one point?
