Gymnastics SEC Championship this weekend

Tide is ranked 7th n the nation but only the 4th seed at the SEC championships this weekend. And, for what seems like the 10th straight year, UGA can't seem to even win a meet. I know we want to get back to winning National Championships, but at least we aren't the Bulldogs. Have to believe they make a coaching change if UGA fails to impress in the NCAA's.
Led by UGA and ALA, I have to give credit to all the other schools (even AU) for improving to where they are all top 15-20 programs.

In gymnastics, the W-L record is less important than the average score. Also matters whether the meet took place at home or on the road.

The ladies have broken 198 a couple of times recently. No, they're not as consistent as the truly elite teams, and are bad to get a 9.75 when they need a 9.9 (tenths, and even halves of tenths, really add up).

This team fights though, and I think Johnston has gotten as much out of it as it has to give. We just need a hair of a tick upgrade in talent. She'll have to recruit her way out of that.

BAMA did finish second to OU at the Ann Arbor regional, and will at least get a shot at the national championship. Congrats to the lady gymnasts.
