As it stands right now, there is no such thing as a student/athlete anymore. Players are basically signing off on one year contracts, and if they think they are good enough to move up to the next level, they are gone. If that doesn't work for them, the players are shopping around to see who can pay them more.

We’re on the cusp of having people that made decent money for a short time and then realizing they should have actually gotten a degree. Greg McElroy has stated numerous times how he’s benefited from playing for the University and receiving his degree. With these kids jumping ship multiple times how can they graduate?
