You don't realize it when you are a student, but there's a reason there is such as thing as homecoming. I moved to TN before the internet evolved to be the great thing it is; i.e. a great source of information about the Crimson Tide. The Posters are right, brother. Get yourself to Tuscaloosa, if only for a weekend. Walk across the Quad, stop by the Mound, see the coaches' statues. Settle for yourself the "what's the best bbq in T-Town argument". Good for the soul. Roll Tide.

To the OP - I'm roughly an hour or so away now, so I feel your pain. So far I've been able to catch all the games on satellite though. Unfortunately the Mizzou tickets were gone before I had a chance at them.

The closest I've come thus far was at the Capital One Bowl last year.

My 1st ever NCAA / Tide / Bowl game.

I still have chill bumps from it.

Following that unforgettable experience, it's just a matter of when - not if - I come down to TTown for a game week-end.

And believe me, I'll be letting all you nice folks know b/f I do!

Due to various circumstances and decisions, both good and bad, I have resided in Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Iowa and Illinois (Chicago area). Anywhere in the South was fine, New Mexico, Iowa and Illinois, not so good. I don't care to live any place where the locals think I speak with an accent...

The people here are pretty cool for the most part. About to turn cold, I don't like that. So far been able to watch Alabama twice, I don't know when I'll get to come home. Mom passed last march and I couldn't get back to Bama for her funeral but I did get to see her in December.
