Link: How does Alabama matchup with Mizzou?

Mauck is a gamer, better probably than he should be based on talent in my opinion. Not real consistent.....though we always get folks best shot. They lost to Indiana early and in my opinion got better as the year went on other than whatever the heck happened to them against Ga. If they held Arky to 14 they can stop the run if they are keying on it. What happens though when they can't key on it against Bama? Their offense does not worry me a lot as other than the Barn nobody has moved the ball much on Bama's D for most of the season. Their pass rush worries me a little. I think what concerns me most is Missouri got to this point last year and more or less laid an egg. They'll be REAL motivated. They are coming off of a physical game against Arky, Bama coming off a hugely emotional come from behind win. Bama's gonna need to be focused. I think Bama wins, but it may not be easy.

1. Mizzou's OL has performed poorly at times this season. This could be an opportunity for the front seven to make an impact.

2. Despite their OL troubles, they've made enough plays on offense to manufacture 7 conference wins. Their WR group is solid despite a lot of attrition over the off-season. Good TE and decent versatile tailbacks.

3. Their defense is salty. They seem susceptible to the run but generally hold up decently. Their combination of pass rush and zone coverage may actually be a stronger scheme against this particular Alabama offense.

Overall, I think Alabama has to establish control of the LOS to win this game. Physical runs and pressure on Mauk are the keys.

Oh noooooo the sky is falling! We gave up a lot of yards & points but Awbarn has a lot of playmakers...more than Mizzou does and Marshall IMHO is a better QB than Mauck. Our defense will be fine. As said earlier their front seven is very good. This game will come down to how well our O plays against their D!

I just hope the enormity of the moment will not be to big for Blake as it seemed to be at the start to the Iron bowl with him doing his best to impersonate Jameis Winston, 3 int's! That was a killer in keeping Auburn alive last night. Missouri is going to be tough to beat, without giving them anything.

Just when you think you know your team and how they going to react in these type games you usually are in for a big surprise! ;) For the life of me I don't know what to think after last nights game and how our guys will perform in the championship game Saturday. Whatever I guess will happen it will probably be the opposite lol!

I am not going to worry about this week and just enjoy the game hopefully with our guys as SEC champions! All the analysis in the world will mean doodly squat after that game kicks off. I am like coach Saban in how I like the way our guys fight and that is exactly what I expect, a fight to the end. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! :)

I am very nervous about the game now after I watched our defense get absolutely shredded by AU last night. I am glad our offense responded in the second half because our defense was being toyed with like a cat with a ball of yarn.

We played softball last night. Just like we did with Texas A&M last season. You win these games like a softball game or a baseball game in Colorado - 10-8. You are not going to stop these kind of offenses (ESP. Auburn) from getting yards. You outscore them and adjust your schemes on defense. Here's why I thought our defense played very well:

1. We were NOT tired on defense. Go back and re-watch the game. Unlike other seasons when playing spread-run teams, we were never tired on defense.

2. We scored more points than they did. Auburn's defense is mediocre to good. Our defense was better. Personally, I think Auburn could beat any team (except for us of course) in the current top 5 and win handily.

At one point earlier in the season I thought Auburn was the best team in the nation, so yeah they probably could beat anyone in the top 5. The crazy thing is they only scored 7 points just a couple weeks ago at Georgia, who lost to Georgia Tech yesterday giving up 30. ;)

They don't have to stack the box - their front 7 are as good as any in college football. Their weakness is in their secondary, and I expect Sims to eat them up - if he has time. Sims is almost never sacked (2 on the season?), but he needs to play under control to go through his progressions. They only allow 20 ppg, so their defense is not weak by any stretch.

I also expect Mizzou to double Cooper after his performance last night. That means that your other receivers will be running wide open all night. As long as Sims doesn't try to force the ball into Cooper, you will move the ball and control the clock.

Mizzou's offense isn't very good. I don't see them scoring 20 points in this game - they might not score 10.

So you're saying we have a chance? ;)

Slightly off-topic but I'm really going to pull for your Buckeye's to win your BIG10CG. I hate that Barrett got injured but I still think you guys can beat whisky. Here's to our resident Buckeye fan's team getting that #4 playoff spot. OSU plays way more balanced ball than Baylor or TCU.

If you don't think nick Marshall putting up those kinda numbers thru the air isn't a concern moving forward then I don't know what to tell you. Joke all you want about mauk and sasser, but they are good enough to beat us if we give them time. We must get into mauks grill early and often like UGA did to win early. And before you say "well if UGA can do that to them with their ok defense then we can" consider the fact auburn lite up the scoreboard on us and gain 600+ yards while UGA let them have 7 and held them under 300. I think it will be a 28-17 type win for us but on paper we SHOULD beat them in the area of 38-10

Read my post again! Do you actually think mizzou's offense is as good as the Boogs? Williams didn't play against GA so they were able to double Coates. The boogs had a bad day offensively against GA it happens...look at our games against Ole Siss and Arky. The whole point of my post was everybody is so worried about the D but they played a talented high powered offense and played much better the second half after adjustments. Mizzou is just not Awbarn on offense!

More than most, this year has been / is one where week to week u just never know what's going to happen. Just look at ole ms / ms state yesterday. No way ole ms should have won. But they did. Each game/match up is different and really unpredictable.

Shane Ray is an animal.Blakes legs are going to be put to use in this game.Cooper is going to attract a lot of attention so I'd look for White or jones to make a big play at some point.Their pass rush concerns me but I think Blake may break a long run or 2 in this one.

If you think so, but we let mediocre qbs have record days. Matty mauk is a dangerous player. Let me remind you Bo Wallace has the same type of up and down play as matty mauk does, and if we don't get in his face then matty could throw 300+ on us. Don't underestimate mizzou and don't overestimate our defense because it can be a dangerous combination.

I just chalk that up to being un-motivated. It seems only Georgia cares about their rivalry with Auburn. Maybe they were looking ahead with Texas A&M. Who knows? It's been that kind of year.

This will be close for a half, Tigers have big receivers to make plays. Bama rolls late 3 rd quarter!!

Bama 28

Kittens 17

Lane Kiffen Brilliant!!!!!!!

They have a way to make things ugly and keep it in striking distance. I don't underestimate them. Sure they got hammered by Georgia and had a clunker against Indiana...but they are not in Atlanta for the 2nd straight time by accident.

I think they will be a tough out! I SURE hope that I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

Their OL is huge.

RB's: Murphy and Hansbrough are really good.

QB: accurate in his throws. Matty Mauk just seems to get the job done. Now, I don't know what happened at Indiana. If they had
played to their potential/capabilities this game would not have been close. (At least we don't have to chase him like the Barn's Marshall.)

WR's looked good to me vs ArKansas

Defense: Front 7 are very good

DB's: I just can't call this one.

FG kicker: Very Good, I think. Can kick from 50 yards but I just can recall the accuracy.

They seek to put it in a higher gear in the 2nd half, esp. the 4th quarter.

Hopefully, Bama can pull this out. However, after the game, they will know that they have been in 15 round (4 quarter) fight. There will be
lots of bumps and bruises.
