In case you’re not aware, Clucko is a really, really big Brahma chicken, long known for sports prediction prowess. Clucko comes down the walkway from his house and picks games, actually winning a 24-entrant football bowl pool a number of years ago.

Clucko chooses from two feed bowls, each designated for a team, but it’s rumored that sometimes a human just tosses a coin and credits Clucko instead.

I can't find much about Clucko

I wasn't a JPW hater calling for GMac to replace him or anything like that. I also know that in that game Alabama had some factors working against them.

But JPW was always a very pedestrian player. I respect him coming to Alabama during a down time and I appreciate he did hold value to the team. But as far as quarterbacks go he was the worst full time starter at QB under Saban at Alabama by a noticeable margin.

He threw for 2,273 yards, 10 TDs, and 8 INTs that year, this from a mult-year starter. This is with Julio Jones to throw to. Gmac, not exactly an elite QB either put up 17 TDs and 4 INTs as a first year starter the next year. JPW was at best a game manager.
My point was not so much about JPW, but about the OL. It was a disaster and understandably so, after the loss of it 2 best OL, both on the left side and Smith being a generational player. IMO, that was the real problem, not so much JPW, who had a decent year for a QB in Saban's system at that time, especially in the bigger games. He didn't have a chance, nor would have most other QBs at that time. IMO, GMac would have been worse because JPW had more mobility.

I didn't think you were a JPW hater, I just think the primary problem was elsewhere.

I really forget the circumstances but from what I remember Andre was suspended for the game and we had an injury to another lineman 3 drives in. It was just a bad night that kept getting worse.

As for quarterbacks… I think Gmac is the worst. JPW was better.

Still, there were almost no believers.

Except, Clucko the Chicken.

Clucko looks like Foghorn Leghorn. He is the biggest chicken I have ever seen.

You are right. The other OL was Mike Johnson, he was the 2nd best - both on the left side. Bama's offensive strength that year was running behind the left side of the OL. Smith was gone from the beginning and MJ, I think in the first qtr. They had nothing else but Julio but JPW had 000 time to get him the ball. Javy's punt returns were just about the only way they could move the ball.

I’ve yet to speak to anyone (anywhere) who thinks Cincy would beat Ohio State. So remind me again why they’re even in the playoffs? It’s supposed to be the 4 best teams…

Why wasn’t Alabama in the 2019 playoff? Wouldn’t they have torched Choklahoma? It’s not about the best team anymore.

Cincy is a dangerous team, talk about an underdog with a chip on their shoulder, this is it. They have a good coach, and for one game they could play with anybody, they can't be underestimated.
Their main point about hanging w/Bama this year is a game from last year that they still lost to a depleted UGA team…
They’re a good team. A good story. They’re not one of the four best teams.
Anyone on this board really believe that Cincinnati beats tOSU? For that matter 1/2 of the SEC W? This is going to be a long three weeks hearing how great this G5 team
is…

It was never about picking the 4 best teams but about making defensible picks while managing media pressure, conference pride, legal threats and trying to have some semblance over the long haul of nation-wide representation. I don't think that Cincinatti is one of the best 4 teams but who among Notre Dame, Okie State, Ohio State et al have made a compelling case for their own inclusion?

I dont believe for a second, considering good health for all, that Cincy beats any of these teams on a neutral field:
1)Alabama
2)A+M
3)Ole Miss
4)Stark Vegas
5)Arkansas
6)LSU
7)Ga
8)Tennessee
9)ohio
10)Michigan
11)PSU
12)Bucky Bedger
13)Clemson
14)Pitt
15)OSU
16)Baylor
17)Oklahoma
18)ND
19(BYU
20)Utah
I am an "Investor" and I would take all 20 of these teams head-up against Cincy giving or accepting the Vegas points. That would be a moneymaker:ROFLMAO:Also these would be toss-up games at best for Cincy:

NC.ST...Miami...N.C.....Iowa St...Kansas St.....Texas Tech....Minny...Iowa...Purdy....Nebraska...Spart....Oregon...Wazzu...ASU....UCLA....Ky....Fla...Mizzu...Auburn

You do realize that they beat ND in South Bend? This year.

Not many people thought Oregon or Michigan were better than OSU, yet they both beat them. I understand that Cincy's schedule is weak, and I think that Oklahoma St. would have deserved to go over Cincy if they would have won the Big 12, but they didn't. I still believe on the field results have to matter, so I'll take a 13-0 conference champ who also has wins over ND and IU over any two loss team or the one loss ND. Of course, that's just me. Regardless of any opinions, Cincy is our opponent, and I hope we are ready to play. Roll Tide!

When you count Indiana as a big win you prove my point...but I understand yours as well...

Yes I do.I watched the ballgame.I watched how it unfolded.I know the health of both football teams in that ballgame.Plus when it was played. Dont get me wrong.A VERY nice win for the Bearcats no matter what.Especially in South Bend!!It was,and I am certainly no Cincy hater. But I believe what I believe and know..Also when you break down Cincy's schedule (sans ND) ? It is and was very weak...Do it and you will see what I know.Hopefully...They have 3 things going for them..1)They are a veteran team 2)They play pretty good defense, especially in the back 2 levels..3)Ridder,albeit not a great QB and somewhat inconsistent throwing it with accuracy, has a lot of game experience...
