We'll probably utilize A LOT of the mush rush this weekend against the swine. Their QB can burn you with his legs and we cannot afford for them to bust several long runs because our DL is getting too far up field and he zips past them.Pass Rush= B-
Rushing D= A
We seem to be using that mush push to keep mobile QB's in pocket. The DL gets minimal pressure, but OLBs are flying around
Good point. Getting consistent push and keeping your hands up are just as important. We’ve got to make sure Jefferson can’t break a big run on us. Hopefully the LB’s will get a shot here and there as well. The broadcast Saturday was talking about how defensive coaches across the board have acknowledged that with offenses going to more of a short, "get it out fast", passing game, it is much harder to expect sacks. So the measure of success has shifted to impacting the quarterback in ways other than just sacks. So, sacks may not be the best measuring stick for how good a DL is performing.
