I heard about it when I called the manager of the San Clemente, California surf shop I bought my last board from to thank him and let him know the board arrived safely. He said with the Tsunami, things have been a little crazy there. Good Lord....those poor people who were/are affected....

There was actually some waves created in the Atlantic from the pressure wave from the eruption. And it was heard in Alaska. The only larger explosions in recent times was Castle Bravo and Tsar Bomba.
