He has accepted a job with the Boston Herald covering the Pats. I dont have the link yet he posted it on his twitter. I really like his coverage, and he and Saban had some great exchanges. I wonder who will take over the Bham Alabama Beat Writing? The Rap Sheet was good.

you were following him on twitter? Really?

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

I'm at work and I have the TwitterFox extension and I’ve never been less productive.

I get updates from Scott Van Pelt, Kenny Mayne, Sportscenter, Lance Armstrong, Fox News, Mike and Mike in the Morning, and yes, even Rachel McAdams.

You get sports updates 24/7. If something happens, you immediately know. Theres no better way to find out news.

I really thought It would be the 1 social networking service I would never use. But I've changed my tune.

I couldn't stand even reading his articles after listening to him ask Coach Saban stupid questions at every press conference. "Umm, uhh, Nick, umm, what is, umm, the depth chart, uhh, looking like?"

He was always the fool that asked the very questions that Coach Saban made perfectly clear he didn't want to answer, not to mention he always addressed Coach as "Nick," which bothered the hell out of me because it seemed like a glaring lack of respect.

I'd much rather listen to Coach Saban answer worthwhile questions from Cecil than have to watch him bite his tongue when Rappaport asks another stupid question about another inane rumor. On top of that, I never thought Rappaport's articles were that good, anyway.

Thank goodness. Maybe they'll get someone in there that knows a little about football, though I highly doubt it.

I wonder how "The Banktress" will like Boston. I did enjoy CNS put Ian in his place from time to time. Good luck to him.

What was the Herald's logic on this one? "Dang, he was good at saying things that made Saban spout off...lets try this with the NFL's Saban."

I actually thought his writing was ok, but agree with everyone who wished he had just let others ask questions in the press conferences, like maybe giving all his chances to Cecil or Jess. On the other hand, watching live as Coach Saban worked him over was occasionally the funniest thing that happened all day. And to his credit, he was never shy about saying when he'd been excoriated....

That is what I remember Ian for doing.
Saban: "There is no depth chart. Don't ask about the depth chart. I will not answer any questions about a depth chart."
Ian: "Nick, tell us about the depth chart."

Maybe Saban will (or did) put in a good word for Ian: "No problem Bill...you'll like this guy...he's a lightweight and makes a good punching bag."

Haha, I could actually imagine that conversation taking place. I'm sure CNS almost liked it when Ian asked his dumb questions. Gave him a little time to let off some steam. He'll probably miss his little buddy in the front row.
