Re: If Johnny Football the most "hated" opponent in Bama History? If not, who is?
There are some players or teams that I don't hate, but I've just grown tired of constantly hearing about them from the media and basically just want to see them knocked down a few notches so that the media will shut up about them. I reached this point with Miami in 1992 (hearing how they were basically unbeatable), Peyton Manning, Manti T'eo last year and I've reached that point with Johnny Whineziel this year. I felt some of that toward Honey Badger in 2011 until his cheap shot on Dre in the first game and then I truly wanted to see him beaten down like the little "Posh" Spice Boy he was. Cam was arrogant and needed comeuppance badly. Nick Fairley deserved nothing less than to leave the field on a cart because he was a dirty piece of scum.
Phat Phil deserves what he's getting now. No one in Knoxville other than some of his punk players (Eryk Ainge, et al.) gives him the time of day any longer. He gets the implied credit for bringing down UThug football to just slightly above the level of Kentucky football. All the bad things that have happened could be rightly attributed to bad karma which he brought upon the program. I hope UThug continues to suffer until every vile finally resigns themselves to the fact that his actions are the cause of the pain and struggles and they heap unbridled hate upon him in blinding torrents. I hope his last days are spent in the misery of knowing that he is reviled by the orange-clad masses. Let it be a lesson to others that would take the low road.
