If You Told Me Bama Makes _________ Game, I'd Be Happy

Bama is the #1 overall seed. The Kentucky, UNC, Duke, or Kansas fanbases would expect a national title in our position. But, I've seen too many Bama teams disappoint in the NCAA tournament, so it's hard to allow myself to get my hopes up for a national title. If Bama makes the Final Four, I will be ecstatic, and if Bama doesn't at least make the Elite 8, I will be a bit disappointed.

Before the season, I'd of said I would be happy with Sweet Sixteen.

As the NCAA Tournament started, I'd of said I'd be happy with Elite Eight; slightly disappointed without. (The fact that Alabama was placed as the number one seed almost made me feel that they have to make it to Elite Eight.)

Now, after the 2nd round, I'd be a little disappointed without getting to the Final Four.

The way players come and go and not knowing who all will be back next season makes me feel that the team has to get over the hump this season. There have been too many Final Four quality teams at Alabama that have been bumped out early; Bama needs a Final Four stamp on their resume.

I hate to respond to this at all. I admit the football mentality is strong with me and I don't like settling.

But if I'm honest without superstition clouding my reply, then I would say a final 4 is the least I would be happy with.

We have never been on that stage and we have a history that is worthy of it. And this is a team that is more than good enough. I think we are the best team right now and I think we are capable of winning the whole thing. But I would be ecstatic with making a final 4.

Elite eight but hoping for the Final Four. I see the rankings from Katz but would disagree. San Diego St. is a tough matchup for Bama. Very quick and athletic team that plays really tough defense.

As Bama basketball fans we're already in unfamiliar territory with season wins, the #1 seed and arguably the best player in the tourney. I know everyone wants us to win it all, but making it to which game would make you happy/pleased?

Final Four?
Championship Game?

Looking back how I saw the team at the beginning of the year, I would have said the Sweet 16. But looking at how this team has persevered and played, Championship game or bust. All the pieces are there, and we just need to execute and play our game.

Tennessee has the most favorable path though, IMO. Florida Atlantic and then the winner of K-State/Princeton.

If the refs continue to go against the Tournament standard for how fouls are called I agree with you wrt Tenn

If allowed to play thugball again they will run through FAU and the KSU/MSU winner.

But I will say I was really impressed with K-State against Kentucky and if they face Tenn in the Elite 8 with a Tourney whistle they can absolutely send the Vols packing.

I started looking at ticket prices/hotels/flights to Houston just in case.... very expensive. Not sure I want to drive 12 hours there if Bama does make it to the Final 4. Anyone planning on going to Houston if Bama makes it that far? RTR

We’re sitting in the Sixteen with San Diego State and likely Creighton between us and the Final Four.

If you had told me in November that we’d have to beat SDSU and Creighton to make the Final Four, I’d have been ecstatic.

Acknowledging that anything can happen in a single-elimination tournament, I like our chances.

Of course, I want it all. But if we make the FF, I’ll consider the season a huge success. Anything beyond that is gravy.

I've been doing the same. San Antonio is a little cheaper, but you have about a 3 hr drive.
