As we approach the Iron Bowl...I keep hearing the same thing from the Aubies "Man! The Iron Bowl you can throw out the records!!!"

I did a little of bit of research on the Iron Bowl & typically the higher ranked team wins...So, the records are usually an indicator of who will win. I think the underdog usually plays well...but the better team normally wins! So, RTR!!!

Since 1953...The higher ranked team as won 86% of the Iron Bowls...

I hear that every year and it is just a load. Two teams walk onto the field and the better team wins, simple as that. Yes there have been upsets, but more often than not the better team wins. The barners are just trying to convince themselves that they can win this game.

I think we win but either AU has improved over the last couple of weeks or UGA has tanked. I look for a tough game similar to our win over LSU.

I believe it is simply that Georgia has just tanked, and frankly were never that good to begin with. They were flat-out annihilated by both Alabama and Florida, and needed squeaker wins over South Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky, and now Auburn. The truth of the matter is that this team is far closer to 7-5 than the national championship team they were billed to be.

It's simple: the offensive line isn't that good... Stafford has a big arm but he's not really an elite quarterback... no depth at wide receiver... Knowshon Moreno is good, but not GOD like some people make him out to be... and the defense is simply nothing special. And, of course, they are going to constantly shoot themselves in the foot with dumb penalties and mistakes stemming from a lack of discipline.

If you put it all together -- taking away the preseason hype -- it's just not a very good team, and quite frankly they are very fortunate to be in the position that they are in.

I do think Auburn played better today than they have recently -- and moreover, I do think we'll have one heck of a fight on our hands in the Iron Bowl -- but it's hard to say they are really playing much better. This was the same team that, just one week ago, was having pure hell against Tennessee-Martin, and there's only so much you can improve in a week.

Me thinks Georgia just isn't anywhere near as good as the pre-season hype indicated.

He is good enough to be an NFL first round draft pick.

UGA has talent at every position but they are just not a well disciplined team and that is the result of average coaching, not lack of talent. JMHO

The barners score 13 total points at home against a Georgia defense that has given up 30-40 points in the last few games. on top of that, UGA has more injured players out than any team in Div-1A.

according to some barner fans, this was the best game they play all season..:conf2:

yeah, I would wager that UGA has tanked after disappointing losses and close wins. if the barn wanted a victory to be bowl eligible, this game would have been it.

I agreed with you until here. Even if he is not an elite QB, he is a lot more elite than JP Wilson (not a stab at wilson, stafford is just that good)

Auburn is going to get up for this game. They've had a terrible of year, but if they can win the Iron Bowl they'll feel like they have salvaged their season. I think this game will be close with hopefully Alabama wearing them down in the end. I'm just glad that we've got two weeks off to get rested up!

A winning season is on the line, being bowl eligible is on the line, bragging rights are on the line and another tee shirt is on the line. Auburn will want it but we want it more.

I agree with Bayou, we want it more this time IMO. Couple that with the fact that we're clearly the better team and we should win. I doubt it will be easy but I'll take a win over those goobers anyway we can get it this year.

The better team almost always wins the Iron Bowl. I'm really not worried about this game at all.

I know All-Barn will be up for this game, but reality will kick in after the game starts. Alabama will win this game and it won't be a squeaker. All-Barn will not be able to consistently run the ball, Cody Burns will be exposed again and throw two or three INT's. Our offense will wear their defense down.

Alabama will win easily.

Right on...I think it is a little of both with the Barn and UGA and I think we had better be prepared for a war in the iron bowl. With that said I believe that we win by 10.

Yes, the favorite usually wins. Just don't bet on them to cover.

in the last 4 games, Bama has covered.:) I am willing to bet that the line will have Bama by double digits.

the game is 2 weeks away. I won't comment on the Iron Bowl, yet.
but I will say this at this moment, giving Bama 2 weeks to rest and prepare against a struggling aubarn team can't be good for the tigers.:eek2:

btw, when was the last time Bama had a bye week before the Iron Bowl?
