Big 12 is not guaranteed a spot, if boise wins out, they could be the 5th champ to get in. Asu is best shot for the 12 and they have to jump some teams, if they lose to a byu or isu, don't see them having a shot of a team in cfp
But PSU annd Ind are 1 loss teams, not the 2 and 3 loss teams that we were talking about. And remind me of where PSU and Indy are…. And how many teams they have beat with 6 wins or more.
The SEC/Big Ten could force this. I don’t know why they don’t.Notre Dame should be in a conference. They shouldn’t get in of who they are. Their spot is taking away from some team that actually plays in a conference.
That was before Tulane lost. Boise would be 4. Tulane was the best shot for that to happenBig 12 is not guaranteed a spot, if boise wins out, they could be the 5th champ to get in. Maybe they are playing nice this first year. The SEC/Big Ten could force this. I don’t know why they don’t.
What staying power do they have? They have 0 wins vs ranked teams and even worse they have not even played a ranked team all season. They are the only power 5 team if you include mountain west, to not play a team that was ranked. (that is 81 teams) There resume isn’t paper thin it is fish net thin. Also this is assuming Miami drops out. Because out of the 3 ACC teams they were always the ones with staying power
My stance is that I have accepted that we aren’t a good team or a team that should be playing for a national championship. So I’m not going to be upset if and when the committee takes a path of least resistance with Miami instead of taking a more mathematical one that takes SOS that favors Bama. We had assurances entering last week and blew it just like Miami did. So both fan bases are going to be sweating until Tuesday evening.Tell me how they’ve separated themselves from us though?
So it’s the ultimate judgement call by a committee, which has quite honestly given us the benefit of the doubt more often than not.
We are not a great team this year by any definition. But in the 12 team playoff era, you don’t have to be.
PSU is #4 and only has beaten only two teams with atleast 6 wins. Explain that. What staying power do they have? They have 0 wins vs ranked teams and even worse they have not even played a ranked team all season. They are the only power 5 team if you include mountain west, to not play a team that was ranked. I too have zero complaints if we don’t get in. I’m only arguing what I see is the reality of the situation. We aren’t in the BCS or 4 team CFP era anymore. We have a legit shot and thus, it’s worth discussing. My stance is that I have accepted that we aren’t a good team or a team that should be playing for a national championship. I think Penn St’s and Indiana’s standing with the committee should worry the hell out any Alabama fan who still thinks we are getting in. Because they are basically telling everyone that they are ranking off good losses and number of losses instead of quality of wins or SOS. Meaning Miami dropping out of top 11 is far from a certain thing.
If we get in… yay I’ll have one meaningful game to cheer for this team. If not… then it’s whatever, they had numerous chances but blew it.
I agree. I think that Alabama deserves to be in - barely - and only because so many other teams had even worse seasons. But if Alabama is left out, I won't lose sleep over it because it will allow DeBoer to use the bowl practices to begin preparing for next season. My stance is that I have accepted that we aren’t a good team or a team that should be playing for a national championship. Big 12 gets one....their champ.Big 12 is not guaranteed a spot, if boise wins out, they could be the 5th champ to get in. Asu is best shot for the 12 and they have to jump some teams, if they lose to a byu or isu, don't see them having a shot of a team in cfp
yet they are ranked ahead of Georgia who has a schedule 30 ranks better than them. Miami is ahead of Tennessee who has a SOS at a comparable number better than them. YALL keep acting like it is a forgone conclusion that Miami is going to be behind Alabama because of SOS but SOS doesn’t factor into any of the current rankings as they sit now.But PSU annd Ind are 1 loss teams, not the 2 and 3 loss teams that we were talking about.
You failed to address the number of losses, which is important to this committeeyet they are ranked ahead of Georgia who has a schedule 30 ranks better than them. Are we better than Miami… yes but again who on this board has a vote or insider info on what the committee decides.
ND has not beaten one ranked team and lost to Northern Illinois.By the way I see Notre Dame getting credit for 4 ranked wins. Aren’t two of those Army and Navy who aren’t currently ranked and clearly are on a lower level than ND?
I thought it was obvious, but apparently it wasn’t.You failed to address the number of losses, which is important to this committee
I heard someone say they had 4 ranked wins. Which I knew would have to mean ranked at the time they played them. I know both Navy and Army were ranked when they played ND. Not sure about anyone else.ND has not beaten one ranked team and lost to Northern Illinois.
Not saying that Alabama is definitely in or that it would be a travesty if they were left out, just saying that they are as deserving or more than many who will make it. But it appears that they have a good shot to make and should not hang their head if they do.
Big 12 champ is in. The five highest ranked conference champions are in. The P4 champs will be four of those five.Big 12 is not guaranteed a spot, if boise wins out, they could be the 5th champ to get in.
