Is there a scenario where we still back into the playoffs?

Sankey won’t allow the B1G to have more teams. The power now lies in 2 conferences. There are enough metrics to leave Miami out. And who cares if the ACC is mad.

I think if Clemson wins then SMU is out. ACC is a one bid league.

Im sticking with this thinking.

ACCCG winner and Miami are getting in. I just don't see them dropping a 10-2 Miami team all the way out.....especially to put a 9-3 team in.
I 100% agree with you. There's no way a 2 loss Miami team is not making it in, and a 3 loss team jumps in over them, that's not going to happen.

I do know that I'd much rather have a road playoff game against Notre Dame or Penn State than to play Illinois in the Gator Bowl.

We have a shot, even after wetting the bed in Norman last week.

We need to be at least 11th in the next rankings with Miami behind us. If Miami is ahead of us we have no shot. If we are 12th we are out.

Most have Alabama out with some other team in (Miami, SMU or USCe). Only a few predict Alabama to get in. We will see.

If Alabama is out, pretty much everyone has them in the Citris Bowl.

Exactly. Anyone who wants UGA to lose doesn’t understand how it works.
I don’t think it matters at this point. Georgia is in regardless… we are hoping.

Really our fate is decided on two questions

1) Will Miami be ahead of us Tuesday? If the answer is Yes then it’s onto the Gator Bowl thanks for playing. If the answer is No then move to #2

2) How do they evaluate USCe and Bama? H2H normally matters but we’ve seen on several occasions where a committee has ignored an October game in favor of a November surge. Everyone that isn’t drunk on crimson kool aid knows USCe for the last 6 games has been a far better team than Alabama has been the last 6 games. So the question is “Do they end the debate on H2H or do they go on best now”?

Bonus….

3) If we are ranked 11 on Tuesday… does Clemson beating SMU keep SMU in? There is a possibility of them leaving SMU in.

I think people believe the committee is bound by previous rankings, but in truth they can do whatever they want. I think Ole Miss and USCe winning may have given them an out to keep us out.

I just can’t get behind having SMU or USCe in over Bama. Both arguments are saying SOS and HTH mean nothing.
Again… PSU and Miami were ranked ahead of UGA entering the week as “at large”. This committee has not shown a willingness to use SOS as a metric.

H2H thus far they have been more willing to use.

Yep, if SC jumps us and Miami...we can forget the playoff.

There's one spot up for grabs with 4 teams in the running.....Bama, Miami, SC, Ole Miss.

Arizona State vs Iowa State winner gets #12.....unless UNLV beats Boise. If Boise loses, the Big 12 champ shoots all the way up in the top 4....then I guess UNLV sneaks in at 12?

So betting odds currently on FanDuel have us as a current favorite on getting in over Miami or South Carolina. If we are behind either on Tuesday night, “thanks for playing. We have some lovely parting gifts for you from a bowl game no one cares about on your way out the door”.

The Nightmare in Norman would render this national championship even more unbelievable.

Alabama won on the road in Happy Valley in 2011 but that means nothing in early 2025.

I really, really hope CKD is pounding into JM’s head to TAKE CARE OF THE FOOTBALL while preparing this team for the Playoffs.

We will find out if it’s best teams in November or teams with biggest draw. It won’t happen but OSU should be out losing 2 of 3 against any real competition. I predict Bama is left out so they don’t have to split hairs between us, Ole Miss and USCe.

After the Good Guys got hosed in 2022, maybe they make the right decision this year.

Ironically, seeding at 11 or 12 and winning 4 games in a row would be the Hollywood bookend to this LANK nonsense.

If we don’t get in, I really don’t care about a bowl game. I see a bunch of opt outs happening. And if that’s the case, I’d rather go sit on the dock and watch the ducks crap in my pond.
