The New York Jets just announced that former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy will be the number 2 quarterback behind starter Mark Sanchez when they open the preseason on Monday night in Houston. McElroy's move up the depth chart was made possible by an injury to veteran quarterback Mark Brunell. More later on TideFans Pro Sports

That's good news. Brunell should have retired by now, but since he blew all of his money I guess he's going to stick around as long as possible.

Joe Namath, Richard Todd, and now the Greg McElroy ere begins in New York. Good news for Greg.

J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets. Good news for GMAC, another Bama QB wearing the Gotham Green. I will probabily be in bed though, but will dvr it so I can watch it tomorrow.

I'm anxious to see how GMac does tonight. I know there are going to be growing pains, but I don't think he'll embarrass himself. Here's hoping he makes the reads he needs to and has enough protection to get through any necessary check-downs.

FWIW, Brunell didn't blow all of his money like some players do on wild spending sprees, etc. Mark got involved in some bad investments and with some people, unbeknownst to him, who were crooks. Big difference between that and blowing it.

Just clearing it up some because Brunell's a good guy who just got some really bad advice. Hate it for him.
