Re: John Gruden????
ever noticed how a lot of college coaches go to the pros and can't win, but pro coaches can come to the college level and be successful... the reason why is simple, in the Pros, you aren't coaching YOUR team, you're coaching THE OWNER'S team... In college, if you get mad at a player, you bench him, in the Pros if you get mad at a player, you still have to answer to the owner, he has $18 million tied up in the player, so guess what, he is STILL playing on Sunday, and once players realize they can do whatever they want, well, all heck breaks loose...
Gruden would probably be a good recruiter(ties to the NFL), is a disciplined coach, and we wouldn't have to worry about him showing emotion on the side line. If he was hired at the capstone, i'd have no problem with it and would support Chucky all the way, he has only had ONE year to coach Tampa the way HE wanted, that was his first season there, and they won the Super Bowl, after that the salary cap bug hit(with success brings players wanting a lot more money) and his troop broke up, now the Glazers are trying to coach the team and be owners and Gruden just isn't in a good situation, as a Bucs fan, I can say I don't see him being in Tampa after the year, and rumor says he wants to try out the college level, I say go for it Mal...
