Sometimes, life isn’t fair. First the ACL, then 7 months later, leukemia.

I hate to hear it.

I had a nephew that had leukemia growing up. It took a lot out of him for a while, but he grew up big and strong played high school sports and did I mention he is big and strong? Guy towers over me...

He had it bad enough that he had the whole Make a Wish trip to Disneyland and a colostomy bag and all that. But, you'd never know it now. I hope Metchie can have that kind of recovery.

Advances in diagnostic techniques and modern treatments make APL the most curable subtype of acute leukemia in adults, with complete remission rates of 90%, and cure rates of approximately 80% or higher.

I sure hope and pray John falls into that 80%, and is completely cured.
