When did Phatimus take over?
He took over for Majors for the first three games of 1992 after Johnny had a heart issue. Johnny returned and after a win dropped two games and his contract was bought out (Mafia style).

As for Fulmer, he has a different kind of heart problem - they can't find it.

Fulmer took over full time for the 1993 season.

Thirteenessee went back and credited the early season games to Fullofmanure’s record. What a great way to treat one of your greatest players.

I always liked Coach Majors, he was truly a UT icon. Played tailback in the single wing at UT and was runner up to Paul Hornung for the Heisman in 1956. He had two brothers who also played at UT, Bill and Bobby and a third brother, Joe who played at FSU. His father, Shirley, was a very successful high school coach in Tennessee for many years.

ETA: He had another brother, Larry, who played at Sewanee and coached there for his father from 1970-1977

The Majors boys were like the Colquitts at 10RC, the Colquitts being all punters. For years every time you turned around, there was a Colquitt back handling the punt for them. Rest in peace, Coach. You were a class act.
