BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Northeast Mississippi Community College football team had one of its most successful seasons in school history.

Sophomore defensive back Deion Belue of Tuscumbia, Ala., led the way for the Tigers. Belue garnered a quartet of honors including being selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) RegionXXIII team, was named the Most Valuable Defensive Back for the All-North squad, a first-team selection as a defensive back and a second-team selection as a returner.

Sounds like he is the real deal. He will be much needed next year. Hope all goes smoothly with his transcripts and academics. We can't afford another Duron Carter situation next year. We'll lose both CB's and at least one safety. We'll need some experience at CB.

We have Milner coming back who started last year as a true freshman. If we add Belue and Dixon with Milner and Lester returning we will have a lot of experience back there. Not to mention I could easily see Vinnie playing safety next year. Plus Ha-Ha should be in the mix.

BTW what is the word on J Williams.

I am curious about Fulton and not heard alot about him except some internet rumblings so who knows. But if we sign Dixon we expect him to start and he might be better than Menzie coming out of JUCO. I think it would be Dixon and Milner as the 2 starters at the CB position. Just my opinion.

Don't forget Travell Dixon either. There have been rumors that he's a private commitment. If he signs with Bama he will factor into the playing rotation at CB.

He just got outrun on that one, noting mental about it. 10 other guys missed on that coverage as well.
no, pretty sure he was the safety man on the coverage, and got sucked in, although, i haven't seen a replay. he didn't just get beat, he never should have been in a position to let somebody outrun him. it was a mental error, just like a blown coverage in the secondary would've been.

The latest news from Belue is that he says that he believes that everything is in order for him to graduate JUCO in December. He says that all that he needs to do now is pass his finals and he will be all set to be a mid-season transfer enrollee to UA in Dec. and report to the team in Jan. 2012.

Great to hear. He's got some speed, so does Dee. Not real sure teams will be able to beat Bama off the line with these two.

if he can stop making huge mental errors like the one he made saturday...
dre kirkpatrick, menzie and milliner have made their fair share of mental errors before they became what they are today. all of them turned out ok. I wouldnt judge his future over a play or two. I personally think he'll be in our CB rotation next season
