Just a little pet peeve of mind I need to get off my chest for today.

everything about grocery stores annoys me.
1.slow people, seriously I get road rage going down aisles
2. people who leave shopping carts just anywhere.
3. extremely chatty people, I just want to get my stuff and get out.
4. the self checkout. I have a job and it is not bagging groceries.
5. Publix and their donations.
6. people who drive down the wrong way in the parking lot.

Grocery stores might be worse than the DMV.
All true. But, the hot soccer moms help a little. :biggrin2:

I like self checkout lanes because most people have no idea how to bag groceries. I once went in a store and bought a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk (that is all I bought) and the cashier put them in the same bag. If I hadn't already paid before she did that I'd have walked out the door and left the stuff sitting there.

I hear ya, but another reason if I must go into that place that I use the self checkout is that at least 50% of their cashiers (more depending on the area) are belligerent as hell. I'd rather get what I need, pay for it without any interaction with the employees.
Even there, if you buy wine or beer, you have to get the approval code from the supervisor. They play favorites, apparently based on skin color, and sometimes just play games to make you wait. As a result, I pay a dollar or so more and buy elsewhere...

A pet peeve of mine is when someone starts yammering about how great the place is that they are from originally.

Cleveland, Ohio and New Jersey seem to be the worst for moving someplace and yapping about how great their hometowns are.

Why did they leave in the first place?

No offense to people (Vinny) from those places - those are just the ones that come to mind at the moment.

I had a person at a trade show a few months ago who is originally from New York City go on for seemingly ever about how she hated the south. Her and her husband met up north, he is originally from the south, they moved south about 30 years ago. All she talked about the entire time was how she "hated" the south and how much better the north was. I finally got sick of listening to the crap, waited for an opening in the conversation that I wasn't originally in, and cordially told her that I hear they have planes that will gladly fly her and her luggage back up there. The look on her face was priceless.

It was bad in Dallas 18-20 years ago when all the cheeseheads surfaced when Packers were in Super Bowl. Man I told them if you wanna crow about the place , go back please !

If you have ever been to Cleveland, it is obvious why they left.

Why they won't shut the heck up is another story.

At the GOP confab, I razzed several of the folks who were selected to go to the National one.

"You do realize it is in Cleveland, right? I assume that you have never been there before................Right, so you still want to go? Don't say I didn't warn you."

(Mrs. Cuda was quick to point out merely having to drive through there is not the same as actually having "been there". Easy for her to say: she has never been there, either. Her point is moot.)

I especially get irritated when Yankees come to berate the South complaining about the humidity and the bugs.

I was born in Birmingham, but raised in northern Illinois, just a few miles north of Chicago, where I lived with my family lived for approx 15 years. After graduating from high school and spending the next 6 years in the Army, I returned home with every intent of staying. That lasted only about a month when one day I informed my mother that "this isn't home anymore''.
Every time I visit there it seems it's worse than the time before.

No way would I talk about how great it is up there when I will only visit once every few years and then leave as quickly as I can.
