Finebaum talks a lot about Spurrier, making it sound possible, if not probable, and draws listeners and callers like flies to the you-know-what he peddles.

Then, when it doesn't happen, he talks about what a loser Mal Moore is, making it sound like he blew the deal, and draws listeners and callers like flies...
You said in two lines what it took me 3 paragraphs to write! :biggrin2:

If Finebaum knows something..its from Brother Oliver. Oliver might have been contacted bt SOS already..who knows...but if Finebaum knows anything for sure, that is how. Has he been low key on Spurrier? We don't get him here in Pensacola (thank God).

Anchovy, I have your name and will expect a thread devoted solely to you being completely wrong IF Spurrier does come to UA. I don't know if he will or he won't, and you haven't seen me posting emphatically about one scenario or the other. I'll expect those who are wrong to serve themselves a nice, cold piece of crow when this is all over.

IF, and I emphatically stress If Spurrier takes the job, they will definitely wait until next Monday for all of the bowls to extend their invitations. Spurrier cares for South Carolina, and he definitely wants them to get a higher bowl than Kentucky. Since both have 7-5 records, it will be up to the bowl committees to decipher. With Spurrier, South Carolina gets the obvious nod. Without Spurrier, Kentucky making their first bowl appearance in years may get the nod.

That is why no one has heard about it, IF he had already taken the job. If he takes the job within the next few days, then there will be a press conference next Monday. If he turns us down, Rich Rodriguez will be named the new head coach next Monday or Tuesday. I have credible sources to be that bit of information up, it is just my honest opinion.

I am really interested to see Miami's coaching search and the possibility of Tubberville leaving to go. I predicted that at the beginning of the season, and as it now looks more unlikely, it would give me so much pleasure to see Auburn fans with a thumb up their @$$.

I gotta agree with the guy. I just do not understand why he would come to Alabama. He is in the twilight of his career at a place that will not demand too much. SOS may be playing us to get a pay raise. I think the people on this board, and you know who you are, who are posting that he is coming are flat out lying. I have your names by the way and I will expect an apology for making us look stupid. I think they want to be the one to post on the outside chance that he does come that they were the ones who posted it first. None of it makes sense. I still believe, and have believed, that it will be Rodriguez.
Some of you guys have low expectations. Aim for excellence! The probation is over and Bama can get the best. Coach Steve knows about Bama's commitment to excellence and that is a great insight. He played in the 1960s against Bama. Finebaum is on track with this because he too understands that Coach Steve knows that Alabama is the SEC.
