For anybody worried he might throw with a little side-arm, remember two things:

1. Philip Rivers' success in college and the NFL
2. We've had shorter QBs like Tua and Bryce who did just fine because good QBs instinctively find throwing windows because most QBs are shorter than almost everybody on the OL.

Keelon pushing for RB Dear and current RB Daniel Hill assisting.

That trio might not be the only bad news the Rebels receive as four-star running back Akylin Dear has deleted all Ole Miss posts from his Instagram with Alabama commit Keelon Russell also quoting the tweet on X.

Dear went on a visit to Alabama recently and was throughly impressed by the new coaching staff.

“The people at Alabama are the people you want around you, like cool people,” Dear said.
Alabama’s freshman running back, Daniel Hill spent a lot of time around Dear during his visit. Both players hail from Mississippi.
“Daniel wants me and him to be a duo with me and him being from the same area,” Dear said.
The Tide’s running back coach Robert Gillespie has been big in Alabama’s continuous push for Dear. The four-star was able to catch up with Gillespie as well.

“They still at the top of my board because coach (Robert) Gillespie still there,” Dear previously said.
Although Dear has been committed to Ole Miss since March 30, On3's Andrew Bone, Steve Wiltfong, and Chad Simmons all logged predictions for Alabama to flip the No. 2 running back in the class.
During his junior season at Quitman High School, Dear ran for 2,016 yards crossing the goal line 27 times while also adding three touchdown passes. Dear is the No. 29 overall player in the country, No. 2 running back, and No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi according to the 247sports composite.

Alabama's 2025 group currently has 18 commits with four-star Anthony Rogers being the only ball carrier in the class so far that is ranked No. 2 in the country according to 247sports.

This was after ESPN updated their rankings and Keelon is at #32 which will be a 5*. The On3 composite still does not have him as a 5* but when On3, 247 and Rivals update their rankings I am confident he will be a 5* on all services and composites when they do.
Ye I'm confident russel gets a 5th star on most if not all services. I think he will also push into the top 20 at least when all is said and done.

Agreed. What I found interesting and head scratching is there are three other QB's other than Underwood and McIntire that are 5*'s on the On3 composite that Keelon beat in the Elite 11. Underwood and McIntire did not participate.

Those two really didn't have too andnit won't effect them. Just imagine if hed beaten them out too

Russell will be in the top 3 at qb at least by the end of the evaluation period.

Pretty confident he will pass Lewis on a few sites.

Does anyone know how rating changes affect a player's NIL?

For instance, if Alabama has a commitment from a 3-star player who suddenly becomes a 5-star player according to ON3, how can that affect his NIL money? Conversely, what happens if https://www.yea-alabama.com/ offers an NIL deal to a recruit whose rating drops significantly before signing day?

Don't think much about class commitments, I prefer to wait until they sign on the bottom line of that NLI, not to be confused with this new crap of the NIL, and this stupid transfer portal that lets them leave after 1 yr., to bad once they accept the NIL Money they don't have to forfeit their scholarship if they transfer before their third year... JMHO...

Not the way you think. Unless thats agreed upon ahead of time.

However anything you do to increase your visibility or build your brand will eventually pay off from an NIL perspective. If you're a 5 star qb you will be very exciting to fans who will buy your jerseys, merchandise etc... and yea you'll make more.

The value a player has to a school just to commit is highly inflated by Twitter and chronically online fans. For a highly coveted player at a position of need at school with the funds your value is will be higher. But all those things matter. They also have to keep that from being an issue in lockeroom (can't pay the freshman qb 7 figures and the starter 50k).

For the most part the numbers you hear online are fabricated by fans or you may hear the "up to $x over 5 years" but they leave out all that qualifying stuff.

Auburn didn't pay a freshman running back 7 figures for a comittment. They suck with money but they aren't that dumb (they are dumb though). Henderson was more realistic offered up to 1.5mil over 4 or 5 years with tons of caveats for playing time and performance. But I honestly doubt that.

The only 7 figure positions that have actually popped up so far in NIL for high school recruits (not starters those number can actially get higher especially with big marketable stars) are QB and DL with wr edge and OL close behind. But no one is promising a rb an actual fortune. Not in the NFL or college ball unless they become a real star.

Has anyone seen enough film on this kid to guess if he could come in and push to be the primary backup next year?

Assuming milroe is nfl bound this year.

Currently ty has a stranglehold on next year's starter job from what we hear, unless mack or Lonergan improve enough to pass him up. Id saybits unlikely he's the backup his freshman year as he likely redahirts and the other two will be 3rd year guys (assuming neither transfer)

However no qb on our roster next year has his skill set. I wouldn't be shocked if he flashes in camp or assuming he enrolls early draws a ton of attention on a day.

I think Milroe will be gone to NFL and it will be Ty's team. Keelon is the future but Mack has a lot of potential also. Our QB room is going to be very good moving forward.

Thank you, I am hoping we can build a QB room like the one we had with Jalen, Tua, and Mac
