Couldn't handle the SEC I guess. I just can't imagine why U$C would want him back. He was just short of having UT on probation. What is he going to add to the situation that U$C is already in.

Wouldnt that be something if he didn't fall short at all? Is the NZAA still sniffing around up there?

They're reporting that Kiffin is bringing Norm Chow with him too!!! Geez!! What are these guys thinking?!?!

They're getting the "band" back together, so to speak. All of this is just too much, and absolutely hilarious.

They're reporting that USC's players and fans are absolutely giddy about this, though. From a continuity standpoint, I get it. But I don't see this thing ending well..

The only problem I see is, Kiffin is NOT Pete Carroll. Its hard for me to believe U$C fans are giddy about this hire. Its pitiful.

I wouldn't be any more surprised if Tennessee hires Joe Paterno to replace Kiffin.

You can't make some of this stuff up.

My theory has been that Pete Carroll has sort of been a Hollywood guy and that recruits have flocked to his team somehow fantasizing that maybe there was a movie part in the deal.

Doesn't Kiffin have that same Hollywood look? No camera shot so far has revealed a blemish on that tanned, boyish face. And he has recruited a bunch of 4-stars to Tennessee, which probably translates to a bunch of 5-stars at USC.

Does it seem to you that the coaching carousel has sped up to the point that you can't even see the horses as they go by?

With this hire, eventually they could possibly have the winningest coach in NCAA history if he can last until 2030 and outlast JoePa. He's going to have to work hard DadGumit to restore those 14 Nazi loses.

Same thing I thought, but Shelley Smith reported that Matt Barkley and his dad all but peed their pants with excitement (in so many words). Even saying that Barkley's face lit up with a smile and he hit her with the OMG. She says people are ecstatic around the athletic complex and there's a strong buzz. Ehh...Tennessee was the same way when they hired him. I see similar results in their future.
