If coachs/colleges would just say no to this crap and let a few of these players with extreme requests like this one dangle in the portal this stuff would stop.

BTW. Good for Florida
That’s the problem. The guys dumping money into these collectives have more money than brains. And coaches? This is analogous to the coach that allows the “problem player on and off the field” to remain on the team because they can be the difference maker on Saturday. Someone will always be willing to spend a multi millionaire's money on the prima donna that might give them the edge.

and people still cannot figure out why Saban quit.

welcome to today's college football
I didn’t blame him at all. I was sorry to see him go but his process won’t work in this version of college football. I would have went to the lake and got a huge pay day from him espn too.

I think I'm holding onto memories. The type we will never be able to reproduce under the current landscape of college football.

This crap isn't even recognizable. Mercenaries for hire.....in college football....has killed the sport.

I care, but it's more a care out of anger of what's been taken away. I was mad that I don't want to watch this stuff anymore, but I've grown indifferent.

What these players need to realize is that they are paid employees. Just like the NFL. You can get your money but that is the only thing that is guaranteed.
Actually, when I've seen some of the demands, I was shocked that they went far, far beyond money. Number of snaps, starts, targets, etc., stuff that would make a pro GM laugh in your face. I think a lot of have incompetent agents, frequently relatives, HS HCs with a relationship, etc. These street corner "agents" just don't realize what's possible, like pro agents do...

I’m just about to give up on college football after watching games on TV, listening on radio starting in the late 1950’s, and being in the stands in BDS, in Norman, Oklahoma, in the Rose Bowl Stadium and other places to see the Crimson Tide.

I hope these players are paying into IRS for the $$,$$$,$$$ they are receiving.

It's completely out of control.

Just adopt an NFL model and dispense with all the "student-athlete" nonsense.

My son plays on his high school JV basketball team and listening to some of the other parents is really informative in terms of what they think they know as opposed to what they actually know and what their expectations are as opposed to the reality of the team/games/competition/etc.

I've coached little league and babe Ruth ball.....the all star team i coached made me never want to coach again. Not the kids, the kids were great.

Parents are unreasonable. Their expectations for their child in relation to where they are in the lineup or where they are on the field....is completely out of whack.

Every parent knows this or that and blah blah....yeah great, I'm the one that volunteered for this, not you.

What's the passage in the Bible about remaining silent because when you say something you remove all doubt about being ignorant.
