Less Miles needs to shut up.

Isn't it true? Be honest. When it all boils down to it these two fan bases simply do not like the other's program. We try to be cordial but in most of our post we all try to subtly sneak in a jab or upper cut at the other's coach or program. We try to back up our opinions with statistics, assumptions, projections, reasonings etc. to explain away why we feel one way or the other toward the other one's program. But really we don't need any of it to feel that way because it is just pure dislike. The "reasons" have nothing to do with it.

Honestly, do you "like" Bama Fishhead? Or do you "dislike" them? You're in a "safe zone" you can be honest. ;)

I'll go first. I dont' like LSU. I respect their team and coach but I don't like them. I could name reasons but I don't have to have them to not like them. I like and respect some of their fans but at the end of the day I don't like LSU....or Auburn, or Tennessee, or Florida, or Arkansas. Dang, I don't like much of anybody. ;)

brilliant. so true. Some of us are very adept at presupposing our conclusion and using facts to window dress the argument. It all boils down to being loyal to your school and disliking everyone else. This may not apply to everyone and Im sure some will say that this is not true but I think they most of those people are probably just not being honest with themselves. great post and I am very guilty of this. Now having said all that, its still loads of fun to argue back and forth about who's best and why this and why that. Its part of what makes college football so great.

Quite simply, until Miles wins 2 SEC titles and a BCS title with his own players, there will be no reason to compare him to Saban, in terms of skill, as a HC. Even if he wins both this year (which I think is likely)--while doing it with a team revolving around Saban's recruits will be nice--it still won't say much about Miles, necessarily. The reality is that probably a third of the BCS conference coaches could go 12-1 with the talent on LSU's roster.

As it stands now, based on fact, Saban > Miles. In a few years, that could change.

I think right now all you LSU fans should be worrying about getting to and winning the SEC title game more than Nick Saban.

Man, how long will this debate go on? (Yes I know I'm not helping, lol, but I've tried to stay out of it.)

So if LSU wins a NC this season, it still won't say much about Miles? :conf2:

Talent can only take you so far. It takes more then talent to win, just look at Ron Zook at Florida.

I'd compare Miles situation to Larry Coker at Miami before I'd compare it to the Zooker and Meyer at Florida.

Coker took over an excellent, talent-laden program at Miami when Davis left, just like Miles did at LSU.

The next couple of years will be telling or Miles. As long as he keeps winning, it's hard to knock his performance as coach. However, if things start to drop like they did for Coker at Miami, then it may be time for gnashing of teeth and tearing of clothes.

Who cares re: Miles/LSU? I'm a Bama fan. I'm perfectly happy where my team and my coach are right now and even more happy about the future. All other coaches/teams are not really important. Not worth the time to worry with really.

I'm anxious to hear what Miles has to say next season when he looses the bulk of Saban's recruits to graduation.

It wont matter much. A lot of people seem to think that LSU is going to be worse after this class graduates. Trust me, they wont miss a beat, LSU is still loaded. I think this years class that LSU is currently recruiting will be their worst in a long time. They should be good to go for the next 2-3 years as far as size, speed, and talent.

They are loaded at WR and RB for for the next two/three years. I'm not sure about other positions though.

Another reason that I can't stand Les Miles is that whipped LSU fans into a frenzy and said that Saban was evil. Well Mr Miles, if Mr Saban had not left LSU then you would be stuck in that one horse town coaching OSU...the okie one, not the one that plays at the Shoe.

I thought he was going to Michigan anyway, so will he care?:conf2:
Oh! Yeah he did say thanks to CNS "as he passed through"....
words do have a way of coming back to haunt, don't they?:)

Actually, I don't give Miles a moment's thought unless it's a topic on this forum. Just think about all the "headliners" from last week up to gametime!
Any of it make one whit of difference - or for that matter prove anything?!
Nary a one!:)

The one year Pellini was at Oklahoma, our defense was the most poorly schemed we've had in the Stoops era. True, Bo was only a co-coordinator and cannot be blamed entirely, but our secondary took on a look that was very benign and, looked like poorly coached.
Les is a strange bird without a doubt. He beat 2 very good Sooner teams, but with the best team he had at Pokie State, he popped off his mouth and got his tail handed to him. He can coach, but even the most ardent Okla State fans had a hard time liking him.

Actually Saban won 1 National Championship and 1 SEC Championship with "his players." The 2001 SEC Championship was won with a team made up of "DiNardo's Players."

What's funny, I have never seen an LSU fan claim that Miles is better than Saban. I'm not sure where it's coming from myself. I think we all know Saban is a better coach.

We are not afraid of Bama, and your pipe dreams of us falling off will not happen. We are here to stay.

Finally, LSU fans really aren't bringing up Saban anymore. We have moved on to worrying about winning the SEC West. The only people bringing up the retarded LSU/Miles/Bama/Saban argument is other SEC teams that just so happen to be losing to us. I understand, I'd be upset if I was consistently getting beat by one team as well.

Miles has only lost twice to our annual opponants. Once to #6 Auburn on the road and to eventual National Champion Florida on the road.

Speaking of Florida, Meyer won a National Championship with Zook's players and is now in the middle of a 3 loss season. Why is no one criticizing him? I've heard some say that even if we win the title this year, it won't say anything about Miles. It's clear that Miles can't impress any of you, but it's fine. He will continue beating the rest of the SEC.

Anyway, that's the last I will say on this topic. Good luck against Miss. State this weekend.

I agree, there won't be a talent drop-off on offense at all, with only a small one on defense. The reason LSU is very likely looking at more than 2 losses next year is going to be the schedule--the entire top tier of the SEC. Georgia and Alabama at home . . . then brutal road games at Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, and Arkansas.

As I have read all of these opinions and points of view, it is easy to notice the people from both fan bases, both old and new.
New posters from last weeks winning team are allowed right along into perhaps (I'm sure)the best-mannered football board in the SEC.

It does not strike me as suspicious, or surprising (in the least) that the football boards of these opposing SEC team(s) will not even confirm, deny, allow my request to join their
board (s).......never mind the debate over these 2 teams, the future of them, or the misspelling of Miles name (or pun) in the title of this thread.

Welcome new visitors! Nice One-Way street we have in this 21st century SEC fan internet interaction thing!

-------Nice previous double-post on my part.------

I never intentionally attempt to hi-jack a thread.
I almost always find a way to kill a thread, and it is usually unintentional.

I don't figure to read a rational answer to our neighbor sports boards' unneighborly ways that I alluded to in the previous post.

You must have skipped over all those posts.

Right, the Edsel was here to stay too.

Total BS I see an I hate Saban post or Less is more post every single day on an LSU board more than one actually. And consistently losing to one team? I'm sure you conveniently mean recently. LSU is 8-2 against Alabama over the last 10 seasons while we went through the toughest sanctions of our history so congratulations. The overall picture is Alabama is 43-22-5 against LSU so who consistently beats who?

You are right this is the last you will say on this topic at least on this board.

You aint been 'round here very long, have you? We criticize him plenty. About the only thing he gets credit for are his inventions. Probably the reason you haven't noticed though is this board is not overrun with Florida fans trying to convince themselves, and anyone else that will listen for that matter, that they have a good coach. Oh, and maybe the fact that you stated. Meyer won a championship with all that talent he inherited. I can't remember if Miles did or not. Did he?

And what many of you are trying to read into the situation is a false assumption. We don't believe that LSU or anyone else has to come "crashing down" for us to beat them on a consistent basis. Us beating you on a consistent basis will be your "crashing down". And it will happen. Hide and watch.
