I mean one clunker doesn’t mean we are falling apart. There are never undefeated seasons in basketball for a reason. Really great teams, like all time great teams, still lose 3 or 4 games.

Honestly expected this to be close if not lose after last years game. How ever the bad FT this year is what worries me more than anything. I believe Oats said he does not have them practice them which is not not great after a bad showing with them last year.

Everyone that is freaking out about loss tonight needs to stop they matched up well and our out of conference schedule is brutal. We have a good team.

Gary is coming back from minor injury and French still is working his way back. Gurley looks like he is still under playing/not fitting in so hopefully Gary and French along with others can take some minutes from him. JD is starting to come on needs to be more aggressive holding back is hurting his game now. It should get better. Lots of skill. But again brutal OCC schedule.

And truthfully how talented is this team. They start three juco or transfer players and I love Bediako he is a raw talent and I thinks he's another player by mid season will be alot better. But where is all these 4 and 5 stars playing besides shack. I love Gary but he's more of a hustle player teams need to win a title. Ellis is great defensively but he want score 15 to 17 every night. Ambrose hardly plays( 4 star guy). Alex Tenchou hardly plays 4 star player. Even though I know he's coming off injury. I want a top 2 NCAA tourny seed . But I think it's more like a 5 or lower. I know last year didn't start off great but Herb isn't walking on the court We miss him alot. But I think this team has alot of potential. I'm staying optimistic.

I like Gurley but he's too slow. JD will be fine but he needs to be more assertive and he's slowly doing that. We're to small at both guard positions. Defensively are bad. A 10 loss team in my opinion but I hope not. By tournament time this team could be very dangerous.

My problem isn't with our offense. It's the defense which worries me the most. And those dang free throws.

Did not get a chance to follow this one. But after looking at the stats. One sticks out to me like a sore thumb missed free throws 13/25 that will lose you some close games definitely got to improve on that. Oh well got to learn from this one and get ready for the next one.

JQ is smaller but shaq is listed 6'3 as is JD not too bad and Ellis is 6'6 which is good size for guard. Burnett 6'4 out for the year was supposed to play a lot. The prob with JQ last year was his defense and might be again this year partly due to size but Shaq usually holds his own. So thats one small guard. Bediako and Gary were killing it together before Gary got hurt. While he has been on his own Bediako has grown a lot so I would say very soon we will be very strong guarding the post. Agree with you earlier Gurley seems to slow right now. Hopefully it is just him trying to figure things out but who knows. And ya agree by tournament time record may not be perfect but no one will want to play us.

And I am just stunned that CNO does not have the team practice FTs, especially after how last season ended. It’s absurd, really.

They will be fine but we got to get better at taking advantage of opportunities to win/grow. This schedule is not a cakewalk walk and it was set up that way purposely so we could be war ready come the tournament. Hopefully they will learn from this and keep growing

Iona will now lose spectacularly tomorrow and we will win in the losers bracket. Oats is awesome and we are better than we have been with previous coaches, but good lord we have lost some head scratchers under Oats.

1) Iona is a good team every year. Makes the tournament most every year and as you all remember almost beat us last year in the Dance.
