'Lil Debbie' Snacks Owes CNS

I must confess...I've been having a sordid affair with Little Debbie and Dolly Madison for a long time. We thought it would be a one time fling but I keep going back, and they just hang around.

I'm a Swiss Cake Roll fan myself, from way back. I haven't had one in YEARS though. That's okay. I ate enough for a lifetime up until around age 19. Now I just dream about them. :)

Swiss Cake Rolls! You just HAD to bring those up, didn't you?

I would like to know what him being an Adventist has to do with it? I understand that they worship on Saturday's, but don't know much else about their beliefs. How does what's in the plant disagree with their beliefs?

Inquiring minds want to know :)!

Adventists are big on the whole "your body is a temple" thing. Many of them are vegetarians, dont drink alcohol or caffeine, and they try to eat as healthy as possible.

I used to love these things, but i haven't had one in a few years.

Little Debbie Fudge brownies w/walnuts, and the pink marshmallow Sno-Puff thingy's for me...although not that often. I don't have a huge sweet tooth and thats a good thing.
I must admit I did celebrate with an oatmeal cream pie after the Iron Bowl win, in honor of the job CNS has done this year coaching the team.

What being Adventist has to do with it is that they are very careful about their diets (mostly vegetarians). My nephew wouldn't eat anything with an ingredient list like the Little Debbie line. I don't know, but I'd be willing to bet that the McKees, nice as they are, probably don't eat their own products...

I was always a sucker for the Raisin Creme cakes that stuck to the roof of your mouth and the square white ones that came two to a pack with the colored sprinkles on top. Those were always good for a change-up after eating a few dozen Oatmeal Cremes a month.

Sounds like we should look for a bit of irony in the ingredient list though, if the owners won't eat it but will sell it to the rest of us...

I can't eat the oatmeal creme pies, I found extra protein baked into a cookie one time. that is not hear say , third party, or other, that is something I experienced first hand.
that being said, consumer reports use to rank baking flour and biscuit/pancake mixes based on the percentage of bug parts found in the mix. to answer any questions, none had zero percent! look in consumer reports circa 1982-83. I don't know if they still do, I adopted the ignorance is bliss credo myself, so I stopped buying those issues of CR. sorry If I may have ruined your culinary experience, if you want more, I have some juicy Taco bell info I could share in another thread

Wow. An appetizer and desert all wrapped up together. Lucky you.
