Game Thread: Lions vs Bucs

Mahomes is probably the best QB to have ever played the game. He will have to do this for another 10 years for people to allow him to surpass Brady in their minds, but those KC teams are not championship teams with any other current NFL QB.
And in the playoffs he's just at another level. Makes crazy throws over and over. If he were less whiny I'd love him.

The Swift coverage doesn't bother me. Whatever. She's the biggest star on the planet and it's not even close.

Not to mention I suspect the viewership numbers have skyrocketed since they've been showing her.

I don't like whiny Mahomes - but as a starting QB, he has never *not* played in the AFC title game. Wow.
My 13 year old daughter, who doesn't give a crud about football, will actually watch some of each Chiefs game just to see Taylor Swift. I get a kick out of watching her get excited for "football".

It wouldn't bother me if it weren't so utterly blatant, as well as how the NFL insulted the intelligence of even the most casual football fan with the way they handled it when this all became public.

Frankly I hate everything about it. I hope the Chiefs fall and fall hard this next weekend. Which means they are going to win the Super Bowl.

Yeah, my 15 year old daughter happened to come out to the living room while I was watching the game last night.....Kelce got a TD.....camera shoots up to Swift.....daughter says, "yeah, I don't like her."

I may have the only teenage girl that doesn't like Taylor Swift.

This is all true but in my mind he's already the best. Just insane how good he is.

He is a big part of the reason Caleb Williams is about to go #1 overall

When the Bucs went for 2 instead of taking the extra point to cut the lead to 7 (and the subsequent explanations about how the analytics make it a good decision based upon the math) I wanted to put my foot through the television.

Enough with applying some math geek baloney to a football game.

You kick the extra point and try to tie it later with another TD and extra point.

Ultimately it didn't matter, but great googly moogly with the analytics baloney.

yeah, I could understand going for 2 if they were going for the win instead of OT, but going for 2 while still down a score is just dumb.

Idk. It makes some sense to me. But it is definitely not the traditional approach.

The math might make sense, but math can't account for stuff like momentum (I know...some people say that momentum isn't real) and although it ultimately didn't matter, that play call completely shifted momentum back to the Lions.

Instead of the pressure being on them to kill the clock or face a game-tying TD by the Bucs, they had an 8 point lead knowing that the Bucs had to not only score a TD but also get a 2pt conversion which they would have just failed to get minutes earlier.

To me it was just dumb...for sure, I could see going for 2 IF we'd been able to win at the end of the game, but that's not an analytics/metrics decision, that's a kill shot call at that stage of the game.

I just think the math geeks have gotten a bit too much into the head of coaches these days.

Sure but if they converted the 2pt then the Lions would know a TD beats them.

Basically if you are think it makes sense to go for 2 on the last TD then to me it makes even more sense to go for 2 a TD early. Gives you a better chance.

Idk I get people feel different ways about this stuff but going for 2 down 14 makes sense to me. I'm good with the thought process. To each their own on this stuff though.
