Local NBC channel blacked out

So I noticed tonight that my local NBC channel on Directv is blacked out. Apparently an agreement hasn't been made between Raycom Media and Directv. This is getting old. It's the same thing every year. Not sure who's to blame, but I hope it gets fixed before Thursday. Gotta watch the Seahawks and Packers .

Now I've read that NFL and college football games will not be interrupted. We shall see.

I recently switched from DirecTV to ATT Uverse so this isn't affecting me at all. But yes, it did get tiring having to put up with the annual contract negotiations between the satellite carriers and the ownership of the local channels.

Fwiw, there are several aspects of Uverse that I didn't have with DirecTV, and I love them. Otoh, there are other aspects of DirecTV that I don't have with Uverse, and I sure do miss them.

It's CBS for us. Direct TV and our CBS channel can't come to terms so it is blacked out. So if Bama plays the CBS game I will have to switch to antenna to get it.

In the B'ham area it's Fox 6. I don't have cable or satellite. I use an indoor HD antenna. I thought I would miss a lot of football on Saturday but I actually got to watch quite a bit with several highlights. I'm glad that I don't have to put up with that type of stuff any more.

Yep we have no Fox either as I get B'ham stations too. Thing is you call DTV and tell them Fox is your favorite channel and now you're ticked off and ready to leave for Dish. Generally you'll get free Starz or HBO or something.

The common thread is Raycom. The same thing happened with Dish last year IIRC.

What do you mean college football games and NFL games won't be interrupted? Even if the blackout continues?

That's what one article I read stated.

DirecTV goes on to say that customers would still be able to watch the first several weeks of NFL and college football games uninteruptted, despite the dispute.

Well there are the NFL games, The Blacklist, SVU. The Blacklist is my favorite show. I sure don't want to miss it.

Could be worse, when me and my wife first got married we lived in Sylacauga and the only choice was Charter. Talk about garbage!

It is indeed. I found I could watch the game on the NBC Sports app though so it's okay.
