First and foremost.. I'd like to begin with the fact that I love our guys. They played their hearts out. Nobody here is happy that we dropped one to the orange slime but hey.. its in the books..

This is my frame of mine reference this year. We knew after we lost to UF that we were out of the SECCG picture so this year is just about bragging rights. We played well enough to win on all three of the dropped games and I believe that theres no way in this world that we're gonna lose to both LSU and the Barn. We're better than that. And I think its very possible that we could feasibly win out if we get a little healing going on. (Dont laugh)

If things go the way that I hope, I would want us to play next week with as many 2nd / 3rd string as possible so we can heal. Remember a few years ago when we played USM and we ran EVERY DOWN lol?!?!??! We were resting the injured there and we still won. FIU has 18 of their players missing due to the Miami incident and I dont think we will need much to take them out.

Anway, regardless of what happens between now and Auburn... I just want us to win THAT game and I honestly from the bottom of my heart believe that we will. And that medicine will cure anything that hurts from this year and should set the tempo for next year where many believe (including myself) that we are definite West contenders and BCS bound.

Roll Tide.

7-5 is a pretty accurate mark. lsu is probably going to kill us. they are so athletic and physical. there's not a weakness on their defense, and in tigger stadium, they don't lose too many. based on our running game against ole missy, tennessee, etc. i don't see us getting very many yards against lswho. i fear for wilson against the blitz-happy tiggers.
auburn game will be close. i see us losing that one at the end of the game....we are prone to do that.

the game i'm most worried about is miss. state. they took georgia to the limit yesterday, and are beginning to play with some confidence. while their offense is not that good, they will knock the hell out of you on defense. based on our conservative play-calling, this could be a game we must be ready to play. we do have a tendency to play to our competition and our red zone inconsistency could cost us if they get the upper hand and the momentum.

I agree. MSU is pathetic on offense, but their defense is pretty darn good. I believe we will win that game, but it will be closer than any of us would care to see. Confidence is growing with MSU and falling with UA. Confidence can make a big difference.

In threads over the past few weeks that asked which one of the big three left on our schedule would we win, I honestly didn't think we would win any of the 3. Then after watching LSU, I started to think that we have played well in Baton Rogue and although LSU has a stout defense I am totally underwhelmed with Russell their QB and their running game resembles ours. So until yesterday I thought we might have a shot at LSU. After yesterday's offensive performance I do not think we will beat LSU or AU and it is highly likely we will not even score an offensive touchdown in either of those games.

LSU has no running game at all. We have a good shot of beating them. If we stop the Barn's running game, we will win that one too. The Barn has a weak secondary and if JPW has time I think we exploit that.

lswho does have a running game and we will see it big time. broussard has been in the dog house. vincent is quick. they have two freshmen who are awesome. russell is impossible to bring down so his passing to davis and bowe will soften us up for big runs.
but their defense won't give up anything...so quick to the ball. reminds me of bama defenses of yesteryear. they are headhunters!

At this point, I don't see us winning either one. LSU could be a complete blowout unless we resolve the huge issues we have on the OL, pass rush, and in our running game, which 8 games into the season looks completly impossible. Auburn will be a close one because it's on our turf and they have the thumb thing going which should at least motivate us a little, but frankly, Tubbs can outcoach Shula up and down the field and get the win. State will be a nailbiter. They gave a Georgia team all they could handle at their house and everybody knows Croom would love to embarass a Tide team that is so out of sync it's not even funny. The good thing is that a win over a FI team makes us bowl eligible for the Independence Bowl so Shreveport, here we come.

Well, Bama has to stop the barn's blitz packages. Which, seeing is believing...Bama stopping a blitz, that is...

I see no change between the Hawaii game and UT so I imagine that we will see no change between UT and Allbarn. There is no way that we could win either game playing the way we are right now.

If, by some outside chance, MSU were to defeat the Tide this year, the people I would pity the most would be the TideFans mods. It would result in not only a complete meltdown of this forum, but a substantial increase in the rolls of the banished.

Tubby outcoach Shula? no change between Hawaii and TN? My lord, has it come to the point where we're conceding defeat and so apathetic that we have no hope? Some of us need to really question if we're really fans of THE TIDE. WE ARE YOUNG PEOPLE. iT'S a fact not an excuse and haven't the luxury of redshirting an abundance of players like some of our opponents. I'm all for being realistic, and my above statements are reality. By 2008 if things are the same and we aren't competing for championships, I'll join the fire Shula bandwagon. Folks we eat our own and CMS deserves better than this. He came into a mess, which was not of his own doing. He did it because quite frankly I don't think ANYONE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY would have taken this own. Fraud was a coward and Price screwed up, not to mention Fraud didn't bother to recruit prior to his final year. Things like that have lasting effects, and this staff is now just starting to bring in their own players. Last year, as suggested by a few, was not a fluke. We were a top 10 team and had great senior leadership and it can't be replaced in a year's time.

No way do we beat AU or LSU! That's about like saying that we'd beat the Colts, Steelers, or Broncos! Something's got to change before we play those two teams, and that one thing hasn't changed in almost four years! I'll still support my team, but excuses aren't going to win us any ballgames! And I'm done making excuses!

I don't think fans are apathetic, I think reality is setting in. Apathy would infer that these fans could careless whether or not Crimson & White players come out victorious on Saturdays. That's not the case. I see a mature fan base on Tidefans.com that have their differences, can air them, be respected for their opinions(even though they do get made fun of now and then), that is coming to grips with realistic expectations. Frustration is also setting in at not being able to close the deal in close games. Especially after '05, Bama was the close game kings of college football.

I want Bama to win as much as anyone else, I'm just not willing to bash players and coaches when a rough patch is hit.

I look at it this way, I'm watching a really good movie right now. Unfortunately, the bad guys are getting away and I'll have to catch the sequels!

As far as execution goes, at some point the coaching staff is responsible and changes need to be made.

I have to agree. If we play 4 quarters with the same intensity we played 3 last night, we can beat LSU or Auburn.

But don't dismiss MSU. They put up a ton of points yesterday in Athens, and if they hadn't fumbled could have kicked a 39 yard field goal to send the game to OT. Plus, Croom guns for us like we go for Auburn and he knows that if he could pull out a win he'd be safe for at least another year. They're going to leave it all on the turf at BDS on the 4th. Look for a tight, tight game - 17-15 Tide win.
