My dad took me to the re-dedication game in 1998 where we played BYU in BDS. For Christmas, my parents got me the poster of the kickoff of that game and I had it framed. I was able to find my dad and I in that picture based on what we were wearing and where we were sitting. I was 16 at the time and I took that poster with me to college (UA of course) and once I graduated, I left it down there in my parents' Tuscaloosa home (the house my dad grew up in...that my parents bought when my grandparents passed away). As some of you know, that house was destroyed by the tornado this last April. Of course, the poster was lost in the tornado, and I was wondering if anyone here has a digital image of that poster, or would know where I could buy a new one to replace the old one to put in the house my parents are rebuilding.

Thanks and Roll Tide!

Glad you found the link.
Awesome game - I remember Shaun Alexander went off in the game and scored like 5 TDs.
I was a student at the time and was sitting in the student section.

Was that the game when it was so hot and humid? Over 100 degrees during the day and when the sun went down, the moon was barely visible through "clear" skies due to the heavy humidity. BYU players were having success running on Bama but would have to go to the bench with leg cramps.

I wasn't able to go to many games back then. However, I was there sitting in the South endzone with my son, who was 8. It may have been his first game. Oh, the memories. Just think of the memories we are making these days!

Coincidentally, I found the complete ESPN broadcast of the 1998 Bama-BYU game on YouTube today.

I miss Ron Franklin. :(

I also miss those days in college football with the huge exception of the health of the Alabama program today vs. those days. It seemed like a more innocent time in those days. ESPN wasn't such a monster manipulating everything about the game. Of course, I was still a kid back in 1998.

Wasn't there also a poster of this game with the same kind of view after it had gotten dark and the lights were on? I thought I remembered seeing it in a store framed in University Mall years ago. I was able to find myself easily in that one.

I remember attending that game as well. That game was the unveiling of our Sony Trinitron jumbo screen; it was the largest of its kind at the time.

Time flies!

Remember watching this game with my late grandfather. He was an Alabama fan but an alumni of BYU...

Good times
