I know there is already a thred (from a week ago) about this but just listening to the post game (UT) and they keep mentioning "negotiations" about the kick off time. I figured it was a no-brainer as far as it being CBS 2:30...is there a different scenario that would require "negotiations"?

Re: LSU Kick off time

I noticed on the ESPN college wrapup last night at 10pm they had started a countdown clock for Bama and LSU. It had 13 days and 21 hours and so many minutes. That put the game at 7pm.

Yes... the rumor that came out yesterday is that ESPN purchased the rights from CBS... not CBS moving it to prime time. We will know for certain on Monday.

Re: LSU Kick off time

Wish they would hurry up and make their minds up. I am flying into Jackson, renting a car and driving over. 7pm gives all day to hype and sell more advertising. Not real keen driving back to MS. late at night with all the drunks from the game. Oh well, as long as we win.

I'll buy your tickets.. :)

Re: LSU Kick off time

On the radio last night they said ESPN had one week they could get first dibs on a game. Obviously gameday will be in town and ESPN would love nothing more than to grab this one. I can see CBS trying to buy them out though. Everybody will be tuned in to this one.

Re: LSU Kick off time

I thought I heard Vern saying they would be doing the game?

Verne did say that they would be in T-town in 2 weeks. It will be a CBS game...I heard that CBS was trying to purchase the rights from ESPN for the evening/night spot as CBS already used their option for the night game...

Tim Brando admitted as much on his show. Supposedly, ESPN wants cash and rights to certain games next year in return.

ESPN no longer has first pick at any point in the season due to the SEC TV contracts.

All in all, I'm sure there have been some real interesting negotiations between CBS and ESPN over this game. ESPN has the cash to buy the rights, if they want to shell it out because CBS won't let it go cheaply (Especially since ad rates will be at a premium for this one).

Re: LSU Kick off time

If this game is prime time somehow, I'll be sleeping until 4 p.m. I thought I was going nuts before the BCSCG. I'd me even worse leading up to this one.

Re: LSU Kick off time

I can stomach Verne he is just stupid, I like Gary Danielson. if it went to ESPN I would hate just hate to see Muskbooger get it, He is the Tennessee of announcers, even Herbstreet can't help him.

Re: LSU Kick off time

I am 46 and tailgating ALL day before this game is not good for my health!

I was hoping for the 230 slot. RTR!!!!
