Game Thread: LSU vs. Tennessee Game Thread

I keep thinking of the UT fan guy in the famous YouTube video where Cody blocked the kick. I bet his head exploded.:biggrin::biggrin:

That was like watching a drunk cajun and a drunk hillbilly slugging it out over a pig....that was classic comedy.......I laughed so much, that was fun!

FUN!

No more 'Mike Shula' jokes or comparisons for Derek Dooley for me. They are an insult to Mike Shula. Even HE would have known not to have 15 people on the field. Way to go, Derek.

I don't know which is more staggeringly inept: having 14 men on the field or not having a play selected for the win as the clock was running out.

how bout Dooley givin ole Les the cold shoulder after the game?

He actually shook his hand when Tennessee "won", but after LSU "won", I guess he figured there was no reason to do it again.

Lost in all this is that #56 for Tennessee had Ridley dead to rights behind the line of scrimmage. Actually hit the hole before Ridley did, he just overran it and fell down trying to get back.

Almost...woulda, coulda, & shouluda! :rolleye2:

On a purely entertainment note, I had a $50 bet on UT to win straight up. Woulda won $378....I feel like Derek Dooley owes me money, but it was worth $50 to see the inept ending of that game. There's not much football that I would say I could execute better than D-1 players and coaches, but I'm pretty certain I could have managed the end of that game better.

Probably the most inept thing is calling a running play at all in that situation. I don't care what Bolderjack and Burlein said about having time to spike the ball. If you're out of timeouts, you pass the ball! I agree with putting Jefferson in, in the sense that it takes one man out of coverage for having to spy on Jefferson for his threat as a runner. If JJ throws an incomplete pass, you have time to change personnel. I'm still just too outdone. I thought Les had reached his pinnacle...but as I've said before, every time I think he's at his apex, he raises the bar one notch higher.
