Marquis Johnson signed his contract with the Rams today along with 7 other draftees. The first overall pick, Sam Bradford, hasn't signed yet, but that is to be expected.

ST. LOUIS, MO – The St. Louis Rams have signed eight of their eleven 2010 draft choices, the team announced today. Third-round pick CB Jerome Murphy, fourth-round selection WR Mardy Gilyard, fifth-rounders TE Michael Hoomanawanui and DE Hall Davis, sixth-round pick DE Eugene Sims and seventh-round selections CB Marquis Johnson, DE George Selvie and LB Josh Hull all signed contracts -day. Terms of the deals were undisclosed.

Johnson played a key role for the 2009 National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide. The 211th overall pick played in 50 games with 13 starts for Nick Saban’s squad. Johnson (5-11, 205) recorded career totals of 61 tackles, 26 passes defensed and three interceptions.

I thought his performance in the USCe game was beyond outstanding. They targeted him specifically, got the matchup they wanted and he delivered a heck of a defensive performance.

Boy, i'll admit - M. Johnson made me eat a little crow humble pie this past year - he made play after play after play in a ton of big games and critical moments.... needless to say, I didn't think much of him and definitely underestimated #24 - Didn't think he could play that well

He sure proved me wrong and I'll be honest - I'm glad I was!!!!

Roll Tide Roll and thank you for all your contributions M. Johnson!!!!
Good luck in the NFL!

Yeah - me, too! He really improved his play from 2008 to last year. Probably had some good coaching!;)

He had a great year and I'm glad he is seeing the benefits from his hard work. he really proved me wrong this year with the way he played.

perfect example of what Saban can do for a DB who wants to work hard and wants to be good.

congrats MJ ...will NEVER forget that sequence of plays against SC - and how we followed it up with a sequence of play of our own with Mark :)

Yeah, Spurrier went out of his way to try and pick on Marquis but he would have none of it. Outstanding play by him all season long. Wish him the best of luck with the Rams!

I still remember his play on that deep ball in the NC game. If he was not there, it probably would have been a TD and an entirely different game.

And, of course, that South Carolina game he played was absolutely amazing.

Best of luck to him in the NFL.

South Carolina game, Mississippi State Game, SECCG, BCSCG. There were a lot of others. He came up big last season after being beat pretty badly in the '08 SECCG and the Sugar Bowl. He's developed into a fine athlete but might not have been taken in the draft had he and Kareem both no had the advantage of being coached by CNS. He came in with the talent and now he has the smarts to go with it. Congratulations to Marquis.

Great going, MJ!

I was so impressed with how he stepped up this year. What a great testimony to his hard work and Saban's coaching.
