Mass/Active Shooters, Part **FIVE**

Meanwhile in my county.......

Today we responded to a Fortify FL tip on an Atlantic HS student who posted about shooting up his high school. He's 15 and in custody for a felony. I can't solve every issue out there that might cause a 15-year-old to post what he posted. But I can guarantee we're going to act quickly to protect the 99% of kids who just want to know they're safe at school. Once again, parents, talk to your kids before they make this mistake.

Did it involve any members of the Providence men's basketball team?

No, it was at a high school hockey game in Pawtucket. A guy who apparently also went by a girl's name (TIFWIW) and whose own kids said he was mentally ill tried to take out his entire family at the game and succeeded at killing himself, the child's mother (I'm assuming based on reports this means they were not married), and one of the kids.

I'm awaiting a text from bro when he gets in for clarification.
Twitter is too damn much clutter and too many agenda seekers, both left and right.

This one does not at this point appear to be clear cut in that it appears he's a man who went by a woman's name but was also a racist and anti-Semite. Again - that's just the gist of what I'm reading.

A 12-year-old was arrested in Volusia County on allegations of writing and posting a “detailed manifesto” about a mass shooting plan at Southwestern Middle School in DeLand, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bullying? On social media? Still......you don't do this. Talk to your parents or a peer.....or peers......

My county.......School threat arrest 3-4-26

At Pride Elementary, this student wrote in permanent marker on a classroom whiteboard that he'd bring a gun to school. Then he left a "list of people who i'm gunna kill" in a desk. Micah Swinnie, 10, is in custody on a felony charge of making a written threat to kill. He told deputies he didn't mean it. The parents of the 3 students named on the list were notified. The parent of the defendant indicated he does not have access to any firearms. That doesn't change the consequences of his actions. This is another reminder to talk to your kids and teach them this lesson before they learn it in the juvenile justice system.

Local News Article on Louisiana Shooting

There's still not a lot of information other than the authorities were able to speak to a neighbor who lived two houses down and she said everything was quiet. There didn't seem to be any disturbance, fighting or anything going on at the house. Then the shooting broke out.

Liza Demming, who lives two doors down from one of the shooting scenes, said her security camera captured video of the gunman running away toward a tire shop. She said she could hear two shots on the audio.

“That’s’ pretty much all I saw, was him running out of the house,” she said.

Demming said she later saw one of the child victims, who had already been covered, laying on the roof of the house. But she said she never heard anything like a fight or argument.

“It was nothing loud, no altercations. It was quiet. Nothing,” she said.

I will say this in general about Shreveport. It has become a cesspool of violent crime over the last 10-15 years. Before this incident, my wife and I had already made the decision that once we retire, we are moving not only out of Shreveport, but the state of Louisiana altogether.
