I do worry though that this far along in the season we're having too many turnovers. Should be better at ball protection than we are. We'll see how it goes moving forward
Unfortunately, I'm afraid that's who this team is. They are starting Sears as the primary ball handler right now. They are not starting Philon any longer since he has faded so much offensively. Sears is not a good ball handler. That will lead to more turnovers. They are also running more offense through Diaboute. He obviously brings a lot of positives to the team, but he is a walking turnover if he handles the ball too much. I'm yelling at the TV, "get rid of the ball" whenever he has it in the open floor. Stevenson and Nelson are not strong ball handlers in traffic, and they handle the ball out on the perimeter and wings a lot in the flow of the offense. Really, the only reliable ball handlers we have seem to be Holloway and Youngblood, because he is so strong with the ball.
We are also taking the ball to the basket more this year, driving defenders, because we can't shoot the 3 as well as a team. That will lead to more turnovers as well as you run into more help defenders when you get inside the paint or close to it.
