Part of the reason for the Yale ejection is because he already had a reputation last year. Yale actually baited him into it.

He made a stupid, selfish decision and this is not the first time. Hopefully it’ll be the last.
He’s 25, it’s baked in. He’s also got another year to do it for Auburn.

Honestly yesterday’s elbow should’ve had him sitting for the rest of the year. Back of the head elbow, and his slap to Youngblood in Tuscaloosa just prove he’s not worthy of the blessing to play organized sports at a high level.

Broom was a little agitated at him post press conference too.

I mean on the flip side you have Philon get ran over on a made layup then he gets laid on and they swallowed whistles but sure broom got slighted because he had a tiny shove. Good thing we didn’t do anything crazy like throw an elbow into the back of his head he might’ve got hurt…
This, as physical as they were it could have been lopsided with neutral refs on neutral court, this was probably best we could hope for there to have the chance to pull out the win

I haven’t seen anyone say Nate is not the right coach. What I said was he needs to find a way to inject more toughness and defense into his system to win at the highest levels. And what we saw today was more energy, swagger, and toughness and we beat one of the top two or three teams in the nation on their home floor on senior day. If we can do that consistently in the tournament, all bets are off as far as winning a national championship.

Where has that been from Grant Nelson? He definitely played with more toughness and energy and it translated to production. That’s the Nelson we saw in the NCAAT last year and what we need again to go far. There was one play he was literally shaking he was so fired up. I know he’s been banged up so I didn’t think he would really be able to improve with them playing so many tough games in a row. But he did so I’m not sure if he did heal up some or if it was an attitude adjustment. Omouryi and Sherrell also showed up. If we get that kind of game from our interior and our guards play and shoot a bit better, I don’t think anyone can beat us. Philon was also fantastic down the stretch and you can really see his growth in the last few games! We need that to continue as well. Roll Tide!!
Oats is great for us, can’t hardly be more successful than we’ve been since he arrived. Lots of fun to watch, and like the quality rosters he’s built. Thinking about physical bigs, have wondered how much Hodgson leaving has impacted that. But all things considered with basketball being so fluid season to season, love how well we’ve managed to be consistently where we’re at

And they support the behavior. He got tossed and was smiling and laughing and getting fist bumps out the door from everyone.

When I see our fans complain about Nate that he might not be the right coach, etc. And then I turned to CBS and see Indiana and Ohio State with a 49 to 45 game with seven minutes to go. Shades of Anthony Grant, basketball. I just don’t understand anyone that complains about Nate.
When it comes to these complaints, we have to ask if this is a Bama Basketball fan or a clueless football fan lowering himself down to support “those other sports” when one is being successful. I hope Nate can easily see the difference between the two and know that we have considerably knowledgeable basketball fanbase that truly appreciates him.

It’s a pretty well known thing that Broome doesn’t get the whistle a lot of other players do. He does have a beef. You’ll see him get pushed frequently on shots and not get a call a lot of other players would get.

At the same time I often wish he’d just play through contact then turn around and play defense. His proclivity for jawing at the refs probably makes them less likely to give him calls.
He flops around and initiates contact and still gets a ton of bogus calls, and then he whines if they don't bail him out. That's laughable. Sorry, Dub, you're a good dude, but I disagree on that one.

I just saw online that CBM is older than Zion Williamson. AND still has one more year of eligibility. SMH.
We'll face him again next year, then. I wonder how many more of their seniors they'll figure out a way to bring back.

Been reading media commentary on Baker-Mazzara's flagrant 2 foul and ejection. It's unanimous and adamant.

He did this last year against Yale, and now against us. Apparently, a number of other fouls have also been reviewed for upgrade to flagrant 1 or 2. IOW, he now has a reputation as a dirty player.

Expect the refs to have him on a really short leash during both the SEC and NCAA tournaments. He's painted a target on his own back.
That flagrant 2 was also premeditated. Continuation for the slap to the face foul for some reason. I guess Youngblood was making life hard for him.

Yale "baited him into it"?

Could you please explain how they did that? 🤔

CBM was excessively flagrant in his elbowing last year. How does someone bait him into doing that...? Serious question.

Under the basket is his typical game. You’ll see a lot of back downs and turnarounds. One that stood out in particular was at 18-10 he made a basket while Aiden was quite obviously shoving him. Another one a few minutes later Grant’s defense on a made basket could have reasonably been called a foul.

Of course, he balked at Shows, which makes it less likely he’d get the call going forward. So part of it is on him.
Broome is VERY aggressive working his way to the basket. The refs see that...which may explain why they weren't so quick to blow the whistle.😎

Well it wasn't and it won't; he is a stupid head case player.
