– Alabama baseball's TJ McCants and Gage Miller were named semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy, the Dick Howser Trophy Committee and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced Thursday.

The pair help to make up a group of 68 student-athletes named to the semifinalist list for the Howser, which is presented each year to college baseball's top player. The Dick Howser Trophy is given in memory of the former Florida State University All-America shortstop and major league player and manager who died of brain cancer in 1987.

Finalists for the Howser will be announced on Thursday, June 8. The 2024 award will be presented at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha and will also be unveiled on MLB Network on Thursday, June 13, at 9 a.m. CT. Alabama has never had a player win the Dick Howser Trophy in its history.
