I'm just waiting for the 2 year bowl game ban, the loss of 25 scholarships and them having to vacate all their wins from the last 3 seasons. Because we all know that will happen.

This punishment isn’t much but they are on probation now and still have the sign stealing thing to take care of. A booster paid for the travel of university employees to spy on future opponents playing other teams. Thats a double no no. If they can prove (I think they will) that everyone knew about it….could be a big fat stinking problem for Michigan. Would be messy without the probation but that could tilt the scales enough to levy a serious penalty.

I don't see much happening to Mc CHEAT. The media loves them. The NCAA loves them too.
This whole thing is like catching a Bank Robber, but letting them keep the money.

You’re right:
- Michigan got caught stealing signs.
- The sign stealing was an organized, systemic effort.
- Without massive funding, the scope and depth of the sign-stealing effort could never have occurred, let alone been sustained for multiple seasons.
- Harbaugh and the Athletic Director HAD to know about the coordinated program, if for no reason other than the cost.

All those are circumstances we know today. They do not include circumstances that might be proven later. Yet the NCAA issues only yet another stern finger-wagging.

Given all that, I’m curious — what sustains your belief that the NCAA will do anything more substantial, at any time, given any proven facts, regarding Michigan or any other school?

The NCAA has been reduced to an event-planning organization. It puts on the NCAA basketball tournament, and does a good job. It also puts on championship tournaments of various descriptions for lots of “Olympic” sports.

It doesn’t control anything else, let alone how college football is governed.

The NCAA spends the rest of its time yelling muttering at clouds. A pathetic Delta Dawn mumbling about how pretty she used to be.

As this is written, college football has no rules beyond yardage penalties, and the occasional expulsion, enforced on the field of play.

It may be another nothing verdict it’s true. I’m not super confident about it either tbh. BUT- the ncaa does have a history of taking stuff more seriously when a school is on probation. I think they’ll negotiate this penalty too and there will be 5-7 ish show clauses and extended probation and maybe even a scholarship reduction. Or some other kind of penalty. The two together will for a short time put them at a disadvantage regardless

It’s not wrong if Cam didn’t know… the NCAA is a joke time for the big dogs to set up a new system and appoint CNS to run it.
