MONTGOMERY, AL – Alabama baseball wrapped up midweek play with a 7-2 win over Troy on Tuesday evening at Riverwalk Stadium. The non-conference victory moved UA to 33-16 overall.
Troy was first on the board with one in the second and one in the fourth before Alabama got its first run with a single tally in the home half of that fourth. The Tide then went on to score six runs over the next three innings with two in the fifth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Alabama's offense produced 11 hits on the night with four players contributing multi-hit showings. Bryce Eblin led the way with a 3-for-4 effort that included a double, one RBI and a run scored. Tommy Seidl, Drew Williamson and Andrew Pinckney all tallied two hits apiece with Seidl and Pinckney each doubling while Williamson homered.
The win went to Crimson Tide reliever Aidan Moza (2-1), who contributed 2.1 scoreless frames with a hit, one walk and three strikeouts. Moza paired with Braylon Myers and Hunter Hoopes to keep the Trojans off the board across the final 5.1 frames. The loss went to Matt Mercer (1-1).
From Interim Head Coach Jason Jackson
"It was a really complete effort overall. We had to do a good job of staying focused with the delay to start and then another delay in the game. Hunter Furtado had the spot start and went out and pitched 3.2 innings for us, gave us a good start and got us into the game. Then, Aidan Moza came in, looked really sharp and did a good job of keeping it tight in the middle. Their effort gave our offense a chance to get going."
