Miller was taken in round three with Farone hearing his name called in the seventh round

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Alabama's Gage Miller and Greg Farone were each selected on day two of the 2024 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Miller (92nd Overall | Miami Marlins) went in the third round with Farone (208th Overall | San Francisco Giants) following in round seven on Monday afternoon. The pair joins first-rounder Ben Hess (26th Overall | New York Yankees) to make up the Crimson Tide's three draftees through the first two days of the event.
In addition to the current players, signee Carter Johnson was selected in the second round at pick No. 56 Sunday night by the Marlins.
Alabama in the MLB Draft
All players that have remaining eligibility are able to return to the University to continue their careers at Alabama if they elect to not sign a professional contract.

Miller (92nd Overall | Miami Marlins) went in the third round with Farone (208th Overall | San Francisco Giants) following in round seven on Monday afternoon. The pair joins first-rounder Ben Hess (26th Overall | New York Yankees) to make up the Crimson Tide's three draftees through the first two days of the event.
In addition to the current players, signee Carter Johnson was selected in the second round at pick No. 56 Sunday night by the Marlins.
Alabama in the MLB Draft
- With the two selections on Monday, the Crimson Tide's all-time draft pick total moved to 173 (162 players) since the event's inception in 1966
- Alabama has had at least one player drafted for 46 consecutive years dating back to 1979
- The Tide has had one-or-more players selected in 53 of the 59 MLB Drafts overall
- UA has seen 67 players selected in the last 14 years with one more day remaining in this year's draft
- Entering Tuesday, a total of 102 players have been taken out of The University of Alabama in the last 24 drafts dating back to 2000
- The Crimson Tide has seen eight position players taken in the top-10 rounds of the last 10 MLB Drafts, including five in the first three rounds of the draft
- Excluding the abbreviated 2020 MLB Draft, Alabama has had 16 pitchers taken in the last six drafts, including five in the top-five rounds and nine across the first 10 rounds

Gage Miller (3rd Round | 92nd Overall | Miami Marlins)
Infielder, Junior
- A power-hitting third baseman who led the Tide's offensive attack
- Started all 55 games that he played in during his first season at the Capstone
- Garnered second team All-America accolades from Perfect Game USA and was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region Second Team in 2024
- Led Alabama in nearly every offensive category including hits, home runs, RBI, runs and total bases (153) along with on-base and slugging percentage
- Maintained a .381 (83-218) average that included 12 doubles, two triples and 18 home runs
- Recorded 56 RBI, 72 runs, 27 walks and 17 hit-by-pitch to go with a .702 slugging mark and a .474 on-base percentage
- Ranked third in the SEC in batting average, fourth in on-base percentage, ninth in slugging percentage and 10th in hits in his lone season in the league
- Spent two seasons at Bishop State Community College in Mobile prior to joining the Crimson Tide
Pitcher, Senior
- Blossomed into the Crimson Tide's Friday night starter by the end of his first season at Alabama
- Appeared in 17 games (16 starts) and finished with a 4-3 record, including a complete game shutout in his start at Ole Miss
- Owned a 5.02 ERA (40 ER/71.2 IP) to go with 68 strikeouts compared to 24 walks while limiting opposing hitters to a .267 average
- Allowed only 42 runs on the season to tie for the 14th-fewest in the SEC
- Logged a team-high 49.2 innings in SEC contests, a total that finished 14th in the league
- Spent the 2023 campaign at Louisville where he appeared in 21 games and tallied 65 punchouts over 50.2 innings of work
- Started his collegiate career at Herkimer College before transferring to Louisville
