I think it's funny Milroe was selected ahead of both Sanders and Ewers.

He has more potential than either, easily. Stronger, faster, cannon arm. If the Seahawks find the secret sauce to turn his acumen around they will have the steal of the draft.

I think the weakness in his game is fairly evident in that he's not seeing the field as well as he should, but I also don't think our OL did him any favors last year. I've seen good QB's wilt under the pounding that he took. If he gets protection he can certainly make all the throws. I'm actually not that high on his mobility. He's fast but not a good scrambler. I also don't see him having a "special package" this year. He would have to win the #2 QB job to do that because they only have 2 active for games. I think his best chance at success is to forget his legs and do what Jalen Hurts did, learn to read defenses.

The "official" end of the Jalen Milroe saga. Never thought I'd see the day!

I wish him success, but I think he won't find it until he learns greater "self awareness" and he understands his weaknesses as a QB.

I'm so ready for a new signal caller after his 2 year debacle. I honestly think he was the most divisive player in Bama history. I know a starting QB at Bama comes with having confidence and swagger. But I've never seen a Bama QB that struggled with basic QB things such as Jalen who had such a high view of himself.

Not that we need confirmation, but this surely suggests something is wrong with NIL if a QB, with JM's weaknesses, is paid more in college than he can make in the NFL.

And as someone said, the only guarantee about JM's pro $ is his signing bonus and this year's pay. If he is cut after next year, the rest of that contract won't be realized.

I think if this continues, you'll start to see players like this stay through their senior year. Why go to the NFL a year early and take a pay cut when you can make more money by staying for your senior season?

It's supply vs demand. There are a lot more good QB's in the NFL and their effect is somewhat less dramatic. In college a great QB can take an otherwise 7 win team and win a natty. and there aren't many great ones.

Having said that I think many QB's are getting overpaid thus far. I don't think that will continue. After all it's a business now and business rules don't change because young people want them to.

They may not blitz as often, but the pressure packages come from all over and are very hard to read, especially for somebody who isn't good at reading defenses in the first place.
