Just what is the "Alabama" offense? What more has to be done to "taylor" the offense to Milroe? I mean he single handily almost lost the Texas A&M game last year with like 50 frazillion fumbles and 20 gazillion interceptions. Is the Alabama offense a short passing game to set up deep bombs later? Scratch that. Jalen cant read fast enough to decide on an rpo. He isnt accurate enough to throw a crossing route. He waits till a wr is wide open before throwing it which gives the db time to break on the ball. He stares down a wr to the point a db 15 yds away has time to break on the ball. This is jalen hurts in his sophmore year. Except jalen wouldnt throw a yolo ball into triple coverage.
Milroe isn't a super star QB right now. That's what I was saying. But Buchner looked way worse and from what I saw Simpson was far from a super star himself. Granted he hasn't had as much time to show what he can or can't do. I said elsewhere he should have gotten more snaps in the 1st 2 games but idk how much longer we can play QB musical chairs.

It's possible we just don't have a QB this year. Maybe Ty is the guy but again he made maybe one or 2 throws tonight that were impressive. (I did miss a few of his snaps while putting my son to sleep)

As for what could be done for Milroe if he is best we have? Move the pocket more and call some more creative QB runs that aren't just draws for starters.

Buchner looks like he has never played football before. Ty made 2 really good throws that I don’t think Milroe has any change of making. For the first time this year, our offense started to look like how I imagined it would. Ty and Roydell might have found something.

I think CNS gave Buchner a legit chance to take the team. He obviously did not. Then he gave Simpson a legit chance. I think this had to do more with giving the other guys a legit chance to see what they could do in a game and get them on film vs just in practice.
We know what we have in Milroe - right now he gives us the best chance to win and he is the most athletic person on the field in just about any game.
Buchner is out.
I think Simpson has the most potential but needs more experience.
Question is - do you go with Milroe or Simpson knowing that either of them can put us in bad situations?
I really thought we had three good choices at qb, turns out we dont have any and we have take the one that hurts us the least.
We still need to make changes on the OL - the big question I have is why do we continue with Procter and we have not seen Pritchett at all? we make changes at every position on the field but nothing on the OL - Ferguson come in for Booker, but I am not sure Booker is the issue. I have to believe that was injury unless I missed something. Something has to be done at LT and our RBs still cannot block anyone. I would like to see more of Justice he cannot do any worse. I will say Roydell had a nice day.

Not sure why you are so dead set against trying to let this kid develop but that is cool. Hurts couldn’t read a defense either but we all love him because he was a winner. He was eventually able to become everything we hoped he would. He had better support from a coaching standpoint. Regardless of Milroe’s struggles against ATM last year did he not make the plays he needed to win the game? Anyway I am done. We will see how the season plays out.
Hurts had to get benched behind a better QB to develop. We were able to bully through most of our schedule with him off the strength of our line, RBs, and defense. But when we ran up against comparable talent the O was almost nonexistent.

Milroe is not Hurts and we don’t have the supporting cast package to mask his deficiencies.

Against a defense that FAMU - that's Florida A&M University, which you know out-humiliated even USF by suspending football operations - against a South Florida defense that got pounded by FAMU. Your Simpson Crimson colored glasses are what, about 50X strength?

How quickly you forget. No, Milroe does not give you the best chance to win. He is a one read passer. If the primary receiver is open, there is a decent chance that he will get the guy the ball no matter the length of the pass required. But if that guy is covered, the play is over. He cannot read the field or defenses right now.

If he is the answer, prepare for a painful season. And if the o line doesn't get fixed, it will be a long season with any of these guys at QB.

I wonder if NIL promises were made regarding playing time, like with Proctor? This whole thing wreaks of NFL, I gotta get mine...

Milroe would be the best option if we ran the triple option, the old 90s Nebraska offense. He is absolutely not able to run this Bama offense, he can't read anything other than a deep ball. He's just not a QB in the SEC. He'd likely be great in the Sun Belt or MAC.

Buchner should never see the field again, what he did yesterday was the worst thing I've seen in years.

Simpson started off rough, but seemed to settle in. Very lucky he didn't get hurt on his first sack. But the offense seemed to settle with him in there.

Lonergan needs to get some work.

Simpson is the guy.

I largely agree on Milroe but nothing I saw from Ty convinces me he's definitively better. Granted I clearly missed at least one throw that people seem impressed by. But 2 throws in more than half a game against that team isn't super convincing to me. I'm not saying Ty isn't going to be the guy just that idk why there is this much positivity around him.

I agree on the OL. I'll add this I think Milroe will be better at compensating for the bad OL. He's probably not as good of a passer on most throws as Ty but he's a better runner even though Ty is pretty fast.

I don’t want to pick a fight. He has started 3 games. Does anyone honestly think we only only score 17 points today if he started his 4th game? Also go back to what I said about scheme. If he struggles reading a defense then make the game and the read easier for him him by giving quick safe throws and picking your spots for chunk plays later in the game. My 2 cents.
Have you not watched him try to make quick throws? He can't throw a quick slant. He can't throw over the middle he waits until the receiver is open, then starts his windup and by the time he throws the receiver is typically no longer open.

The biggest positive I seen last night was Mccellan was yanked after that excuse me block on the blitzing DB. Was his effort intentional? If so, we have big issues. Anyway that led to Williams having a good game. Been fan of him for a while.

The only way Milroe would be true impact at this level at QB, would be in a Wildcat Offense, Gus Malzahn would absolutely love him..
I’ve thought he would fit great in a 2100-2014 era Auburn offense.

I don’t care who you run out there at QB if they can’t be protected they can’t be successful. I’ve watched and played enough football growing up to know that everything on offense begins and ends with the offensive line.

if you have a great line it will make average skill players look better than they are. An average QB that has time to scan the field looking for average WR’s that have time to get open will be successful. Average RB’s look like all Americans if they have a hole to run through the width of a car. I don’t care who stands behind center for Bama without improved oline play they can’t be successful. I have no problem with the QB change I think getting the other guys in was the right call, but the that line is going to get a QB hurt.

hate to retweet RGIII but ... (not saying I agree with him on the first sentence b/c I have no idea)

His character has never been a question nor has his athleticism or his big arm. What has always been in question is his short to mid range passing abilities as well as his judgment throwing the ball. There is a place for him on this team some at QB from the wildcat and I would love to see him at WR at times with his speed he should be something to watch. The guy bleeds crimson and is deserving of our support and if CNS plays him at QB as a fan I will wish him the best. But as a student of the game those are his weaknesses and have been for past two years.

Move the pocket, creative qb runs? Bama tried moving the pocket and coming up with "creative" qb runs in 2018. If we had kept moving the pocket and coming up with creative qb runs in 2018 Juedy, Smith, Ruggs and Najee transfer out after we lose ti Georgia in the Championship game.

To put it simply, at this point we are arguing about which turd stinks the lest. I have seen pop warner offenses look more organized than what we have now. Remember when we all laughed when lsu hired brian kelly? Not laughing now are we? In all honesty this is looking like fsu in bowdens last 6 years. Early on, assistants being poached after two years on the job, holding onto an assistant that is underperforming, hire an assistant that nobody else wants and the fan base of the school you are "poaching" him from actually happy he is gone. Hiring Rees was keen to Bobby Bowden hiring his own son as offensive coordinator. Mickey andrews as Bowdens DC refused to change and still believed that running a true 4-3 against spread offenses still worked was comparable to keeping golding for four years.

We laughed and scoffed when jimbo hired petrino at atm. How many people at this point would contribute to his buyout to get him in Tuscaloosa?
Before anybody starts yelling "but, but, but the offensive line". I blame them to. Yea, we got 3 guys at 350+. Which means we got three fat, slow offensive linemen. Thats on the oline coach and the s&c coach. If you dont have a qb, you better have one helluva oline. If you dont have an oline that is big and nasty you better have a qb that can compensate. Bama has neither. 5star recruiting 2 star coaching.

Plain and simple, the current problems do not get solved anywhere except the off season. Going at this rate, Bama is looking at a 4 lose season and playing in a bowl game the day after christmas. God, I hope im wrong.
